Green Arrow and Jimmy Olsen will both make their debuts in this fall upcoming season of Smallville, according to TV Guide.
Oliver Queen, as Green Arrow is known in civilian life, will be in at least seven episodes as part of a long story arc.
"He will start to form the nascent Justice League," Smallville executive producer Alfred Gough told the publication. "He's trying to find like-minded people with special powers and put a more formal structure in place."
There will be the prerequisite period of wariness on Clark Kent's part, as was the case with Flash, Cyborg and Aquaman who appeared in earlier episodes.
"Ultimately Clark will see the value of what he is trying to do," Gough says. "But as he's gotten older, Clark has become more cautious. He will always be there to help out, but he doesn't want to be part of a formalized organization."
Justin Hartley, who played the role of Arthur (Aquaman) Curry in the as-yet-unaired TV pilot, will be playing Green Arrow. Reportedly, Lois Lane will take a romantic interest in Ollie.
Plus, Aaron Ashmore (twin brother of Shawn Ashmore of both Smallville and X-Men fame) will be Jimmy Olsen in a recurring role. "In our first episode back, they reconnect," Gough says. "And so Chloe Sullivan finally gets a boyfriend."
"I feel really, really lucky to be able to do that. Somebody's gotta do it, so I will definitely volunteer to be the one that goes from one beautiful girl to the next," Aaron told a recent press event, according to Kryptonsite.
