Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to Direct The Crow Reboot!

Relativity (VIA COMINGSOON) have officially announced that 28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will direct the reboot for the 1994 classic starring Bandon Lee, The Crow. The success of the first one left it to become dragged through the mud with several ill received sequels, each starring someone who could never capture the fan favorite essence of the late Brandon Lee.

“Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is an incredibly talented and imaginative filmmaker,” says Executive Producer Tucker Tooley, "We are thrilled to have him at the helm and are excited to work with both Pressman and Apaches on what we all believe will be a compelling and innovative reimagining of The Crow.”

"The original Crow was groundbreaking cinema," adds prodcuer Edward R. Pressman, "Its gothic visual and musical ideas influenced a generation and cinema itself. With Juan Carlos, we have every confidence that his new Crow will have a similar impact on the contemporary audience."

The Crow reboot has no release date, but at least it has finally ended its long running search for a director.

The original Crow was a near EXACT adaptation of the original Graphic Novel, any re-imagining is bound to fail.

If anyone should direct it, it would need to be Dave McKean.

A good director but of all the reboots surfacing this is really the one that upsets me the most. Why not just do like every single sequel and be a "reimagining" or a different freaking Crow bearer. Douches

WTF resdreses! You're a fraggin' spambot, I hate spambots!...

Now, back to the topic at hand: The Crow doesn't need to be rebooted - all of it's sequels were basically reboots to begin with - The original is a classic that Hollywood should just leave alone.

Reinvent the wheel, reinvent lightbulbs, reinvent the telephone and television, rediscover fire, go back to the moon, rediscover America and that the Earth isn't flat, BUT DON'T REMAKE THE CROW! It may not be casablanca in the same way that Metallica isn't the Beatles, but they still kick ass. Let the Crow rest already (no pun intended).

why the hell does it need a reboot? the original was perfect, the only thing it didn't have was a scar on his left eye, DON'T FIX WHAT ISN'T BROKEN!

sadly enough i'll probably still go see it, but if it sucks and you hear someone in the back of the theater yelling "THIS IS BULLSHIT, [frick] YOU ALL!!!" it's probably just me :/
