Relativity (VIA
COMINGSOON) have officially announced that
28 Weeks Later director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo will direct the reboot for the 1994 classic starring Bandon Lee,
The Crow. The success of the first one left it to become dragged through the mud with several ill received sequels, each starring someone who could never capture the fan favorite essence of the late Brandon Lee.
“Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is an incredibly talented and imaginative filmmaker,” says Executive Producer Tucker Tooley, "We are thrilled to have him at the helm and are excited to work with both Pressman and Apaches on what we all believe will be a compelling and innovative reimagining of The Crow.”
"The original Crow was groundbreaking cinema," adds prodcuer Edward R. Pressman, "Its gothic visual and musical ideas influenced a generation and cinema itself. With Juan Carlos, we have every confidence that his new Crow will have a similar impact on the contemporary audience."
The Crow reboot has no release date, but at least it has finally ended its long running search for a director.
