Mark Wahlberg Offered Lead In The Crow Remake

Mark Wahlberg Offered Lead In The Crow Remake

Is it April already? Apparently Wahlberg has been approached to star in the upcoming remake from Relativity Media..

Bloody Disgusting are reporting that Marky Mar., sorry, Mark Wahlberg is being sought by Relativity Media to star in their upcoming remake of the 1994 flick based on James O'Barr's graphic novel. The original is a cult classic and of course featured the last performance of Brandon Lee as Eric Draven who was tragically killed on set.

Personally I can't think of a more miscast actor for this role. Lets hope he declines. Musician/screenwriter Nick Cave has been working on a rewrite with Stephen Norrington (Blade, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ) attached to direct. We don't know if the film will feature the character of Eric Draven once again, but it is said to be another adaptation of the O'Barr graphic novel so unless they are going to drastically change things up its a fair bet.

"Where's the source about this news?" Umm... I guess the source needs to be mentioned more than in the opening line and the normal source link where all sources for articles are placed? It never ceases to amaze me how many people read articles and don't comprehend what they are reading.

As to Wahlberg possibly being the next Crow, I am speechless. This would be one of the strangest castings and one I just don't get at all.

I love Mark Wahlberg. It's a wierd choice but if he does get it I'd be interested in The Crow again. Give him a chance
Johnny Depp sounds like typecasting. With him, he rarely does the same thing twice. But you can't just cast him into anything and all that's miscellaneous. I don't see how he's The Crow or Riddler at all.

Like Mark Wahlberg well enough, would have been 10x better than Channing Tatum as Duke.

But as The Crow!? Makes no sense...

Hellz to the no. Sorry Mark.

Best choice: Joseph Gordon Levitt

The Crow fan cast

Him or Jared Leto I'd be fine with

@Alex JGL looks EXACTLY like Heath. If he were cast, it would have been if Heath were cast. R.I.P

"Personally I can't think of a more miscast actor for this role." C'mon now, we all know Nicolas Cage is an almost perfect miscast for any CBM role (he was good as Big Daddy at least)

Mark Wahlberg, fantastic actor, but I don't think he fits as the lead for The Crow.I don't think they should be remaking this movie in the first place. It will probably be good. But in most cases,it will never be as good as the original.Brandon Lee captured that magic,I wish he was still alive too.I could see Jared Leto playing the lead,he is a very strange type person, but in a good way.30 Seconds to Mars is like my favorite band at the moment, but depending on when they are going to do the movie,he might not be able to it because they are touring like crazy and he's mainly focusing on music right now.But what do I know,I'm not an expert.
