Ezra Miller has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons for a while now, but it appears their actions in Hawaii could be the straw that broke the camel's back for Warner Bros. Rumour has it the studio is planning to "pause" any upcoming projects involving the actor, leaving their future in both the DC Extended Universe and Wizarding World very much in doubt.
That's no great surprise after Miller's recent arrest, and they've always proved to be something of a controversial figure thanks to a number of comments made in interviews over the years.
Of course, Miller has always been a divisive choice to play Barry Allen, so there are many fans out there getting excited by the possibilty of them being replaced as the Scarlet Speedster after The Flash. This has led to the small screen Fastest Man Alive, Grant Gustin, trending worldwide on social media as fans share their support for him to make the leap to the DCEU and play this character.
The nature of the Multiverse actually makes that entirely possible, and reshoots could quite easily result in The Flash ending with Barry getting a new face. Whether Warner Bros. would want to give that chance to Gustin is another matter, but he's starred as this hero for nearly a decade now, and a quick look at Twitter proves he's an extremely popular choice to take over from Miller.
There's a lot of time between now and The Flash's release in theaters next June, so Warner Bros. might just be hoping this all blows over. This should be a story worth keeping an eye on, though.
For now, memes like this make it clear how a lot of DC fans feel...
