THE FLASH Heading To The Small Screen From The Team Behind ARROW

Despite rumours of The Flash being brought to the big screen before a Justice League movie the following year, Warner Bros. and the CW have put Amazon on hold in order to focus on a small screen adaptation featuring the Scarlet Speedster. However, he will first appear in season two of Arrow!

Deadline has revealed that the CW have put a small screen adaptation of The Flash on, ahem, the fast track. However, in some news which should please fans of Arrow (which I myself have recently given another chance and found to be pretty damn great), the creators of that show - Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and director David Nutter - are developing the series. More details are expected to be revealed at today's TCA CW presentation. The Flash will apparently be introduced on the next season of Arrow before being given his own series. Geoff Johns will write the pilot alongside Berlanti and Kreisberg, while Nutter will direct. Marc Guggenheim however will not be involved due to commitments to Arrow. What this also means is that Wonder Woman show Amazon has been put on pause. Are DC building their Cinematic Universe on the small screen before Justice League?!

Hey guys quick question...

What if Warner Bros were building up these characters on the small screen so that it would be easier to bring them into a Justice League movie???

I know... I know.... That would probably be totally lame...

But with Bats and Sups already set to bump heads in 2015, whose to say that these Flash and Green Arrow Shows are actually building up towards a bigger universe. I'm probably 110% wrong here...lol but what if they were to do this, how would that make you feel??

What the heck? Flash probably will not get a movie as soon as we think then. At least make it the classic Flash.

Super-speed is a superpower that needs a real proper care to be portrayed on screen, and judging from the CW's track record...no, I don't want all those slow motion effect from Smallville to return! I doubt even a big screen outing can pull that off, let alone a TV series, so I really am not sure about this.

So the whole NO super powers things is being thrown out the metaphorical window. Hopefully Johns writes every single fricking episode. I swear the episodes he writes are usually the best. So more Johns less of the showrunners please.

Great) Finaly CW back to super-powers) "Flash" must not be in same universe of "Arrow" and "The Dark Knight Trilogy", it must be like "Smallville".

I'll give it a shot. I don't know how The Flash would work in Arrow's universe though.

Flash needs a high level budget with top of the line special effects. Not a tv show.

This fkn sucks. I thought there was going to be a Flash movie in 2016 and it would be a part of the DCCU.

Well this is good and bad. thankfully they are throwing out the "no superpowers" thing and that means ANY DC character can appear on Arrow.
The bad thing is, unless WB has recently (as in TODAY) changed their policy, that definitely means no Flash movie. WB has a policy that characters cannot be used on TV and Film at the same time (unless its cartoons) They think if people get a character for free at home, they wont pay for it at the theater.
Well if its done right Im okay with a TV series, as long as they at least allow him and the same actor to appear in a JLA movie

It's clear to me WB doesn't know what they are doing, I know everyone wants Supes n Bats together but Supes vs Bats ? Sounds like a shitty cell phone game and now this?

Arrow is an awesome show, but it's not where Flash should be put. He needs a big time budget and effects to portray him properly.
