According to bluray.com, Joe Johnston's (Captain America: The First Avenger) The Rocketeer: 20th Anniversary Edition will finally be arriving on blu-ray before the year ends. The street date that had popped up on amazon.com was December 13th, which has been confirmed by the house of mouse. According to Disney's official announcement the Blu-ray will present The Rocketeer in a 2.35:1 aspect ratio with 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. The special features are still unknown at this time. The starting price of the blu-ray is $26.50, which is not bad. I gotta say that I'm actually excited for this blu-ray.
The film stars Billy Campbell as a stunt pilot and a mechanic in 1930's California who comes across stolen jet-pack designed by Howard Hughes. Based on the retro comic book by Dave Stevens, the superhero flick also stars Jennifer Connelly, Timothy Dalton and Alan Arkin.
