Chatting with the L.A. Times from the set of the Snow White and the Huntsman in eastern Wales, actor Chris Hemsworth briefly shared thoughts on the front-runner to helm Marvel Studios' THOR sequel. Essentially revealing he's met with Patty Jenkins, check out what Chris says below.

“She has a great take on the story and a solid grasp on that kind of universe,” Hemsworth said in his meeting with Jenkins she seemed like a filmmaker worthy of picking up the franchise’s cinematic hammer “Branagh read every comic book he could get his hands on,” Hemsworth said. “She also looked like she had done her homework.”

With the sequel apparently following the Norse God "literally" to other worlds, as well his deepening relationship with the all-father Odin, and love interest Jane Foster, look for THOR 2 in theaters July 26, 2013.

Since everyone is all right with a black bond I don't see what the problem would be for a woman direction

give her a chance, the marvel studios produced cbm's have been pretty spot on with their directing choice's if you ask me.

i was convinced that she is a good solid choice.

so at the end of Avengers, Loki is punished for his foul deeds and banished to Hel...

now for the casting...

Eva Green as Hela!!!

Branagh's great with actors (because he's a great actor), and he got the whole Shakespearean thing that was necessary to Thor, but overall he's not actually that great of a director. A lot of his non-Shakespeare movies are shit. Thor was definitely one of his better ones, but some bits of his directorial style (like the constant Dutch angles) get kind of annoying, so now that the actors have gotten into their roles enough to not need someone like Branagh to coach them and bring out the Shakespearean themes that make up the basics of Thor's story, I for one think it's quite alright to bring in a new director. I've never seen Monster or her episode of The Killing, but both received great reviews, and Monster won Charlize Theron an Oscar, so let's just say we should assume they know what they're doing until we get some proof otherwise.

@JLA2014 to assume it will fail because she is a female is ridiculous...

Kathryn Bigelow is a great director and she is a female.

the argument would be better if you had said it would fail because she is inexperienced, but as Intruder pointed out, all you have to do is look at Monster and know that Thor 2 is in good hands.

@JLA2014- lol, thor made more money than GL. Cap made more money than GL and it had to go up against HARRY POTTER! what did GL have to go up against, super 8? yeah, go back to clinging onto the last shred of hope that DC has

@Nolanite...That is horrible. Being retarded is NOT something to joke about. Grow up...honestly. Some of us have family members who are mentally challenged.

The sexist comments about women not being able to direct CBM's is just terrible. There are women who would do better than men. It is stupid to say she would not do good, just for being a female

@NOLANITE
not that i'm choosing sides or anything, but the fans wanted a crappy Green Lantern movie and even more Batman?
i'm sorry but DC has been dropping the ball in their live action department for years.
you cannot sit there and tell everyone here that Catwoman, Jonah Hex, and Steel are fan services.
just sayin'.

@Nolanite: What does her being a female have to do with her directorial skills? Thats a pretty closed-minded and tunnel-visioned way to look at the situation. As long as she does a good job, Im all for it. Hope she does a better job than Branagh.

Thor was ok, but it wasnt the epic masterpiece it shouldve been. I hope by them going into the different worlds changes that for the sequel
