So, after multiple viewings and much deliberation I believe I,
DEVLIN712, am ready to to say what the most recent outing for Marvel's God of Thunder means for the future of the
Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What are we missing in TDW?
- Odin is not dead!
Thor: The Dark World may have the best stinger scene since Nick Fury's cameo in Iron Man. However, the scene does leave a rather big question unanswered... We still don't know what Loki did to Odin? Or do we...
After the attack on Asgard we see Thor and his father having a shouting match across the throne room... and just as Odin's rant seems to be finished he does something very interesting, he crouches over (as if in pain) and wheezes... The same thing he did before falling into the Odin-Sleep in Thor...
- Adam Mother-F*cking Warlock!
Not really a secret anymore, Nova wrote a great article with the help of figuresmaniac on the possible hint at Adam Warlock making an appearance in the MCU
Check it out HERE!
- The Infinity Stones
We have all seen the mid-credits scene which gives us the line "One down, five to go" but this isn't our only hint at the famous gems...
Odin is once again the source of information. He tells Thor of "The Relics from before time", one of which is liquid (the Aether) and the other five, which are all stones.
Convenient, eh?
Where does TDW leave us in the MCU?
- Loki: The Movie?
Marvel are in the movie business for one reason, money! And so far it seems that Tom Hiddlestone's God of Mischief is drawing in drones of female fans.
If the Twilight series has shown us (both fans and critiques of the trilogy) anything it's this:
Female Fans = Money
It's now a case of when, not would, Marvel make a Loki film
- The Gauntlet
All signs in the MCU point to one place, Thanos' floating sky-den
We've seen his face, his favorite arm band and now two of his most precious pieces of jewelry.
With Marvel Cosmic expanding faster than X-Men's continuity went down the drain, it's a case of sooner rather than later until we see the purple tyrant get some proper screen time.
Take what you will from this editorial, at the end of the day I'm just a fan, wait for it, fantasizing (See what I did there!) about the future.
Tell me what you think, am I in the warm spot (Hel) or the cold area (Odenheim)?
If I left anything big out feel free to let your thoughts be heard in the comments and as always,
Grazie, Signore e Signori
