Thor Movie Shrouded in Secrecy

Natalie Portman blames technology for the blanket of secrecy that surrounds Thor and other Marvel Studios movies!

Ever wondered how Marvel Studios keeps such a tight lid on all of their super hero films in development? Well, according to actress Natalie Portman, who will be appearing as Jane Foster in the live-action adaptation of the popular Thor comic book, that's because Marvel operates like a black ops government agency!

"I think everyone has gotten more secretive just because of the preponderance of technology that can scam just about anything. It's like you don't get a script anymore that doesn't have watermarks that would identify you if you ever tried to leak anything. The Thor script is hard to read because it's on some weird colored paper and they have your name in huge letters across every page. And any time you get a phone call from Marvel, it doesn't come up as a normal number, it's like a five digit code. I've never seen that before. I've had phone calls from people in the government and they don't have that. Marvel's like some like crazy underground world."

Thor will be directed by Kenneth Branagh and is expected to begin shooting in January. Other actors rounding out the cast include Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Stuart Townsend, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba and Kat Dennings.

Thor opens May 20, 2011!

that's pretty crazy, but hey, I'd want to keep it secret too. The speculation game is a fun one.

Marvel is the best at playing "Cloak and Dagger". Not knowing too much is what makes it fun. :)

I love it! That's the way it has to be to keep
the creeps out there from snaking everything and
ruining the wonderful surprise of the completed
movies!

I guess FOX don't have that "spy" organization
and that's why we had the Wolverine: Origins
debacle! Of course I really don't care that
movie was leaked! It was horrid, IMHO!

I sure wish Marvel under Disney would aggressively
buy back all their properties! Then we'd finally
have a unified Marvel universe and all the wonderful
characters all in the right sole place! Then we'd
get the Marvel movies we really want!

Wow, with all of the huge amount of Thor, Iron Man and Hawkeye news rushing in Im really hoping we're going to get some sort of Captain America casting announcement soon..! The waiting is killing me!!! :P

DDD: Man, that would be a dream come true! Imagine Spider-Man teaing up with Johnny Storm or Iron Man, Black Widow and Daredevil fighting side by side! :) Fingers crossed for the future!

Hopefully though, when marvel/disney gets all of their properties back, dc will have have grown enough to provide a worthy challenge for marvel, because batman can hold up dc for only so long

waitaminute,
if disney is the mafia, what does that make Marvel?
the street vendor that pays the mob to sell on their turf?

Another trick Marvel uses is called "the canary trap." Each script will have one or two words per page that are unique to only that copy. The reasoning being if a full script leaks online they can know whose script it is by the wording. Tom Clancy wrote about the practice in his novels and I have heard the trick has been used on several highly sought out scripts over the years. Simple but effective.

I started watching Chuck yesterday and can see Ryan McPartlin being cast as Captain America...Marvel must have checked the show out when they were looking at casting Levi as Fandral and the guy has the right look, build and voice for Cap!

Yeah true Lee, Im waiting for those first pics of Eddie Murphy as The Riddler and Cher as Catwoman:)

The plot spoilers AICN posted sound like they could be the real deal, but id security is as tight as ol milk ass is suggesting, then its probably bullshit. I hope not though, aside from Odin dying it sounded great.

For those of you familiar with the songs "Jizz in My Pants", "I'm on a Boat", or "Dick in a Box", the music/comedy group responsible for them (The Lonely Island) has a track on the same album entitled "Natalie Raps". Take the time to check it out on iTunes or whatever you use. You'll see Natalie Portman in a whole new light. It's had me laughing for months.

Josh- Yes McPartlin deffinitely is a great candidate for the ol' Captain! He's added to the list:

JENSEN ACKLES (of course)
Geoff Stults
Josh Duhamel
Teddy Sears
Ryan McPartlin

All decent Cap choices.
