With the Thor threequel underway across the pond, the movie has thundered its way to a very impressive international box office haul with overwhelmingly positive critics reviews to boot. Currently sitting at 96% with 126 critic reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie figures to find itself in favorable form to pull another bundle of cash once the movie opens here in the US this Friday
Since there has been such a great initial response to the movie it's only natural to begin early speculation on where the character would go next if another movie in the sub franchise is greenlit for 4th seqeul. Speaking with Screen Rant recently, Taika Waititi mentions how he would go more down a route favoring a Ragnarok 2 opposed to what some might figure to be a Thor 4
"Yeah, people ask me, 'would you do another one,' and for sure I'd do another one because it wouldn't even feel like doing a fourth Thor film, it would just feel like doing the second Ragnarok film," Waititi continued. "Cause it does feel like in a way, yeah there's been this reinvention in an exciting way. And, I know that Chris feels a real new ownership over the character. He's excited and he knows that character so well, and i know that his character in Trinity War is gonna have some amazing stuff in that.
"So it's exciting cause it feel like, if Chris were to do this again it wouldn't feel like 'oh it's the eighth time I've done Thor,' no it will feel like the second or third time I've done this character," Waititi went on to mention Ruffalo's character reinvention as well. "Same with Mark [Ruffalo]. His version of Banner is a brand new version which is way more interesting. And dare I say it, more human. They're the more human versions of the character because I feel like the audience can relate to them right off the bat."
Certainly sounds like Waititi would be eager to give us another installment if Feige grants him that chance. With the way audiences seem to be responding so far it's hard to imagine many would reject another Thor movie regardless of the circumstance. Though there are those skeptics out there that might not jive with Waititi's brand or a new humourous version of Thor, there's no doubt Waititi and Hemsworth have given us a great movie to enjoy.
