Who Kat Dennings May Play in Thor

A couple possibilities...

Okay, so just recently in a interview with Natalie Portman, it was said that Kat Dennings will be in Marvel's Thor. Well I have a little theory on who she could possibly play. Do you guys remember this casting call from SpoilerTv a while back.

[MARCY LEWIS]

(20) Is a college student. Aloof, jaded beyond her years, she thought her internship with scientist Kate Spelling would be an easy 6 college credits. However, she's been stuck for months in this small New Mexico town and relegated to a wide range of unglamorous activities. Kate has been particularly hard on Marcy, making it her personal project to see that Marcy lives up to her potential. Marcy deals with her situation both by using subtle irony and by being an overt wiseass

Well maybe just maybe, this could be the character she'll portray. I really doubt that she'll be up in Asgard just because of the simple fact that Natalie stated that she will be working alongside Kat. And Natalie's character, Jane Foster will indeed be here on earth, and not in Asgard.

UPDATE: Kat Dennings wrote an interesting tweet earlier today.

"Hell is gonna be awesome"

Do you think she could be referring to Hela, the ruler of Hell and Niffleheim? This tweet could mean anything. I just thought it was interesting.

i hope by that quote she doesn't mean the ACTUAL Hell.
y'know...... the place?
i hear it's a place to avoid.
pitch black, fire, screaming, gnashing of teeth.
doesn't sound fun to me.
but although i COULD see her as Hela, i could definitley see her as Amora the Enchantress.
in the pic shown on this page she has that "Dont you even love me?" look.

SWEET!! Wow!
The entire scope of this movie has just about doubled.
All this time I doubted the Thor movie would have Valkyrie or Hela in it, but now I am absolutely SURE it will.

ZOMFG... it's more Marvely goodness than you can shake a stick at!

Anyways - I still would rather them have cast someone older as Hela, but this is cool. I am sure it will be fine. I hope they give her a costume that is reminiscent of the bizarre one she wears in the comic. With all that stuff criss crossing around her head and shoulders... she reminds me of Eternity. I bet that isn't accidental.. In Marvel ALL Death Gods are related to each other in the sense that they all sort of "work" for Death herself. And Death and Eternity are brother and sister so I see a sort of meaning in the way she looks in the comics

She totally makes sense for Hela!!! She's got the look goin for her and Hela is suposed to be the daughter of Loki so it makes sense that she would be younger than most of the cast.

Anil- Hey, instead of Heimdall guarding the brige, they could change the brige to a "Gate" and instead of Heimdall guarding it, they could change it to Balder. Please tell me i don't need to explain this joke ;P

@Shaman - I see what you did, would Guenhwyvar make a cameo... maybe played by Stan Lee?

Kat Dennings as Hela would be quite a good fit, she suits the Gothic, melancholic roles.

She'll make a great Hela! (it seems pretty certain she'll play that character going by what she put on twitter)

Here's hoping for a low cut top! :D

Tea- Mr. Bean with tits, now THAT belongs in hell!!! She'd be a perfect fit for Hela. Provided they give her a wide & thick mask :))
HelaGood

yeah i think Hela would be the best bet. they need a bigger star for the enchantress.

...because Natalie is playing Jane.
StephenStrange
StephenStrange - 11/24/2009, 10:47 AM
You know what's wierd is that if the Earth segment is just going to be a small part of the movie, then maybe they should give the role of Hela to a more seasoned actress, and let Dennings play Foster.

I mean if Denning's part is bigger than Portman's, won't it kind of seem like she was upstaged by an upstart? LOL CATFIGHT
Betty
Betty - 11/24/2009, 10:53 AM
omg tea

Darth-- Dennings could be Hela and have very little screen time and Natalie's part is probably one of the semi-main characters. There might be more time spent on earth so Portman'll have the bigger part.
Shaman
Shaman - 11/24/2009, 11:03 AM
Or maybe that Portman is smart enough to realise how big Thor's fanbase is and it could warrant a big sequel which would solely take place on earth???

Darth- I'm not feeling your new avatar. For some reason, you're different... You changed man, you changed!!!
StephenStrange
StephenStrange - 11/24/2009, 11:18 AM
lmao @ Shaman: 1) A Thor sequel would be sweet and amazing! Good thought, I hope so!!

2) About the avatar: How come dude? Do you think a Sith Lord is more me? Should I change it?
Anyway whateever picture is up there, it's still me alright!!
Mulder's cool man. I am crazy about the X Files, and Mulder especially. When I was younger I wanted to be just like the guy. I was always reading about paranormal phoenomena, and such.

Anyways I am thinking about a screen name change, and getting away fromt the whole Sith thing anyway.

StephenStrange
StephenStrange - 11/24/2009, 11:25 AM
@ Betty: Ok that would work but for some reason the impression I have been getting is that Thor will take place mostly on Asgard. And the fact that people keep hollering about how there can't possibly be a Don Blake in it kind of made me think that the Earth part will be small.

For realz, for moths now all I ever hear is peopl saying no Don Blake No Done Blake NoDon Blake.. But people associate Don Blake and Jane Foster together just like Clark Kent and Lois Lane .

Well if that's wrong then GOOD! lol glad to hear it!
Shaman
Shaman - 11/24/2009, 11:26 AM
You should change you name to "ScullyBanger" then LOL :P

You know sometimes, when you're used to reading how a person types and attaching that "feel" to a specific avatar, sometimes when that person changes their avatar, it affects the way we read what they write for the better or for worse. It's weird but that picture of mulder just didn't fit with my perception of your writing LOL :P Which is why i also have a difficult time finding myself a good change of avatars. When i start changing avatars, i can change it 30 times in two days until i get the one that satisfies me LOL :P
StephenStrange
StephenStrange - 11/24/2009, 11:36 AM
lol.. whose that in the one you have now? Is it Storm?

I always liked your WW2 Cap one! That way I always knew it was you, which help me find your posts quickly so I could read em!

THIRTY TIMES?? woah. here's a man that really cares about his avatar, son! eh that's what i would expect from an artist. cool
JerusalemJr
JerusalemJr - 11/24/2009, 11:53 AM
My theory is that she is just a sub character, probably some student friend of Natalie Portman's character who possibly ends up somehow getting dragged to hell (Hela's realm) and Thor has to go and save her at the command of his human counterparts girlfriend.

I always thought Shaman's avatar should be the old Image character Shaman, I actually liked those comics.
StephenStrange
StephenStrange - 11/24/2009, 11:55 AM
Who was Shaman from Image?

@ Shaman: Moniker fixed! Just for you old chap! LMAO!
Shaman
Shaman - 11/24/2009, 12:05 PM
Scullybanger- HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! You know what? IT FITS LOLOL :P Good job on that moniker, darth ;P

My avatar is Victor the demon summoner in Castlevania: Curse of Darkness. It's not that i relate to the character per say but the picture i feel is fitting with the image i wanna portray ;) So that's why i have a great deal of difficulty finding an image that fits me LOL

JerusalemJr- I knew of Shaman in Alpha Flight but i never heard of the Image Shaman. I'll have to google it ;)

Would this be what you enjoyed reading? I've never heard of this book, any good?

If Portman knows she's cast and mentioned it I'd say she's an employee at the hospital or a friend of her's. I'm thinking it could be that Marcy role. I can't really see her as a goddess.
