Three ways I think the second movie is a worthy sequel to the first movie

I must say, when I first saw the second transformers film, revenge of the fallen, I was mighty impressed. Yes, there are some duff scenes, which really don’t need to be there, and some of the story doesn’t make complete sense, (which I shall explain in a future posting) but I was adamant that it was just as good as the first film, in most places.

So here are three reasons why I think the second film is a worthy sequel to the first movie.

1. Optimus Prime

I really loved how they treat the character in the film. Every scene that he appears in done fantastically! From the scene that he crashes into the building to save Sam, to him transforming out of the airplane (In the air!) and to his heroic battle in the forest, there are some excellent scenes here. These scenes are just as good as the first film. I love how Optimus is treated as the main character through the whole film, which especially like, considering he’s my favourite character by far.

2. NEST

After the final battle at the end of the first movie, I was wondering how the story would go from there. Well, it didn’t disappoint. The Autobots have teamed up with the military in a joint attack force called NEST. You see, I like this relationship between the humans and the Autobots. It brought something to the film that wasn’t in the first film for the majority – trust. I also liked the beginning scenes with NEST attempting to destroy Demolishor and NEST discussing the last mission in the Autobot headquarters near the beginning of the film.

3. Back story of transformers + Jetfire

Some say that this film doesn’t have much story. I tend to disagree with this, as I reckon the story in this film is almost just as good as the first film (apart from a few bits didn’t make complete sense). I liked how it introduces a new leader of the d Decepticons, and how Optimus is actually just more than the leader of the Autobots.

Special note has to go to Jetfire. He is certainly one of the best characters in the film (behind Optimus Prime that is!) and brings a sense of humour not found in the film. I also liked how it was him that originally had the mission that Sam and co. now have. And who could forget the end fight with Jetfire and Optimus? Epic Stuff.

So there you have it. Now, im not saying its better that the first film or is it perfect – far from it, but that’s for a later posting. But, I do believe that the reasons stated above and some great scenes, make most of the film a worthy successor to the first film.

Do you agree with the three points and reasoning above? Hopefully you do!

Not bad. Needs more pictures though.

I have found that just like the first one the movie had to grow on me a little. After having seen Fallen a few more times it is not nearly as bad as it first seemed.

It does have a lot of flaws which do hurt it quite a bit. Personally I wish they had at least tagged more of the Transformers with names along the way.

@ TheDarqueOne

Every time i see the film, it does grow on me. But its a double edged sword - all the good scenes get better and all the bad scenes get worse.

And i was planning to put more pictures in the article, but my video player decided to play up, so couldnt get the photos. I shall try my best in the future!

@ROBBEATZZZ
The comedy was a bit over done. The twins were quite funny in some places, but they went too far with them. And the Devistator bit? Just no...

Thanks for the comments people!

Well, let's see. Why is that bullshit? Um, I couldn't tell who was who with the action scenes, the story was completely unfocused, the plot holes were enormous, the comedy was overdone, and the overall acting was terrible. Sorry if I sound like an ass, but this movie just pisses me off. The first one was great, though...

Agreed on the humor. It seemed to me like they tried to jam two movies into one. There was to much shit goin on. Optimus should have stayed dead, atleast until the next movie. The matrix falling into dust then reforming after he "found himself" was fu**ing stupid. I hoped that the twins were gonna get whacked the whole movie, they sucked. Last but not least, what about the shard that he found in shirt? Did they forget about that or what? It was poorly written and seemed rushed.

The Twins were an insult to blacks and they were the jar jar binks of Transformers period! I mean ROTF is a great action movie and Devastator LOOKED great but had zero back story, his reason for forming was not the least bit epic or climatic AND he was not even formed by, uh I dunno - ACTUAL CONSTRUCTICONS, they wre jus like puzzle pieces! Trucks that were NOT even transforming robots it was TERRIBLE and a waste of a great character!! @first I was mad at how Bay designed him as a monster, but thru production I got use to it and understood that in a way Devie makes the most sense as a mindless monster tha can carry out objectives BUT he was not used to his potential!
