TRANSFORMERS/G.I. JOE Crossover Project Rumored To Be In The Works After Insider Claims "It's Happening"

For years, fans have made their interest in a Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover movie known, but if one reliable insider is to be believed, the project is finally starting to take shape at Paramount Pictures.

The next instalment of the Transformers franchise, Rise of the Beasts, rolls out into theaters on June 8. Bumblebee served as a solid reboot for the series after Michael Bay's divisive efforts, but this chapter promises to combine the best of both approaches to these characters in order to deliver what Paramount no doubt hopes will be the first of a new slate of titles.

However, the studio may be about to take the property in an unexpected (and exciting) direction.

According to reliable insider @MyTimeToShineH (via SFFGazette.com), a Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover is finally in the works. As you can see below, the scooper shared the cover artwork of an Image Comics comic event from 2003 along with the caption, "It's happening."

2021's Snake Eyes was a flop, and the prior G.I. Joe movies failed to impress fans and critics alike. With that in mind, throwing those characters into an adventure alongside Optimus Prime and company is arguably the best way to bring that struggling property to a place where it can find box office success.

After all, it's impossible to imagine a crossover being anything other than a hit, though with nothing confirmed by the stuidio, take this rumour with a pinch of salt for now.

It's unclear where this will fit into Paramount's larger plans for Transformers. An animated prequel starring Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson, Transformers One, is slated for a September 13, 2024 release. We can't imagine the G.I. Joe characters are going to appear there, so here's hoping this will be a live-action movie.

Any ideas Paramount likely had for G.I. Joe must have gone out the window when Snake Eyes bombed and it would be an uphill battle to get people back into theaters to watch any of those characters take centre stage. However, should they battle it out alongside or against fan-favourite Autobots and Decepticons, then that might lead to an eventual revival outside of Transformers

As always, you'll want to keep checking back here for updates.

Crossovers with unestablished IPs are meaningless. Which is why it was meaningless to have Snyder's Superman meet Batman and Wonder Woman Who were not established. So this is minor news. It's not even worthy to report.

A GI Joe movie directed by Favreau and Glen Powell playing Duke would be perfect.

Why not make it the Transformers vs. Fast & Furious vs. G.I. Joe ?

Then you could combine all of the stupidest & worst of these huge trash franchises. They might make twice their money back just selling toys and other merch.

Then the sequel:

Transformers vs. F&F vs. G.I. Joe on Jurassic Park Island.

@DocSpock -
I'd go with

Jurassic Kingdom: The New World
A small midwestern town that lives off of farming is overrung by a horde of raptors. The townsfolk have to defend themselves from the invading creatures and protect their home.
Smaller movie in the franchise with a 50M budget.

G.I. Joe: Ressurection -
Set in modern day, new Joes are recruited to protect the US president as he flies to a unspecified terrorist nation to negotiate peace. The nation turns out to be in cahoots with a recently rebuilt Cobra that uses a brainwashed Duke as their henchman.
The team has to extract the president from the small island nation.
Small budget action flick with barely any CGI. 50M budget max.

Dead by Daylight: Blood and Iron -
The tale of Evan McMillan being slowly corrupted by the insanity of the Entity. As he succumbs to the madness he parttakes in a trial that sees the Plague kill fellow survivors, ultimately Evan succumbs to the madness and turns into The Trapper.
2M budget.

Son of Shrek:
Shrek and Fiona's son Edward, a good looking prince with barely any ogre features learns to accept himself as both a hero and someone who may not look like his father and mother but still is very much their child.
Together with Brizzletooth, the youngest daughter of Donkey & Dragon he rescues the princess Saphira from a 1001 nights inspired prison and takes on the evil Jaffar.

Halloween: The Return of Michael Myers -> The Haunting of Michael Myers -> The End of Michael Myers -
Set in after "The Curse of Michael Myers" and implying that H20/Ressurection take place in the same timeline the movie sees Michael chase after his son, Steven. Steven is being raised by Tommy Doyle and Kara Strode; his life is turned upside down as Michael and Cultists of Thorne invade his quaint little town and attempt to sacrifice him to Samhain.
Michael is apprehended in the end of the first movie of the trilogy and is executed in the opening of the second movie.
The survivors of the first movie are then haunted by the spirit of Michael, fully turning the franchise supernatural. After the haunting is finished and Michael's body rises again the survivors bond together for a final, fully satanic third movie that sees them destroy the evil that has a hold of the body that is Michael Myers in an epic ritual full of supernatural horror.
Sort of the anti-thesis to the Gordon-Green trilogy.

Transformers: Apocalypse -
Michael Bay returns with a final sequel in his series; Quintessa has turned human officials into her subordinates that fuel the flame of hate against any alien "invader". As humanity turns harshly against Transformers the Autobots and Decepticons alike are rounded up and meant to be "sent back" to space. The film ends in the reveal of Quintessa's ploy and her eventual destruction in a joint effort of Autobots and Decepticons; who end up leaving earth to form a new Cybertron on a recently discovered planet with similar properties.
The franchise leaves on a good note.

Freaky Death Day:
Jessica Rothe & Kathryn Newton fight Vince Vaguhn's killer together in a neverending loop that almost ends up ripping reality apart.

The Last Purge:
Despite the Purge being illegal and officially ended a war errupts between loyalitsts to President Roan and the NFF.
Frank Grillo returns to take out the leading organisators and the almost creepily old suckers that lead the NFF.
The movie ends in a "forced" peace that sees America almost half annhiliated and finally joined, not in agreement but same suffering.

Hellboy 3: The Fallen -
Ron Perlman returns to voice Red in the final movie using DelToro's script while being played by a stuntman physically. Red's children are used by The Fallen to ressurect himself through it. Red, now a broken man after his wife's death, battles his "family" of demon brothers/sisters and finally takes on The Fallen to rescue his children and ultimately finds peace in heaven.
DelToro's script is bought and he gets a producer's credit but the budget kept low to make the movie possible. If not big enough even just a direct-to-streaming animated movie to at least wrap up that franchise.

Reign of the Mummy -
A black pyramid arises in the egyptian desert and swallows archeologist Alex O'Connel within it. His father Rick comes out of retirement to find his son, within the pyramid Rick, Ardeth Bay and his brother in law Jonathan find a gate to the Afterlife.
Within they're faced with egyptian creatures and uncover the truth: Im-Ho-Thep has killed Anubis and taken his place as the ruler of the underworld. Enacting his revenge on the O'Connells once and for all.
The group strikes an uneasy alliance with the spirit of the Scorpion King (Dwayne Johnson/Victor Webster/Zach McGowan) to finish their enemy off once and for all.
Rick ultimately becomes the new watcher over the Underworld with his wive's spirit by his side (cameo by Rachel Weisz)

That was an entertaining read. As long as once that gets done, they don't have a pervy Flash go back in time and mess it all back up.

Wait for the box office first please. The tracking for this doesn't look good, I wouldn't be surprised if they brought back Michael Bay for a legacy sequel starring LaBeof, Fox, Duhamel, Gibson and Turturro.

I have no desire to see the Joes and Transformers together. I was never a fan of it even as a kid.

Do find it interesting you've used a cover from Transformers UK for the banner image though...
