Season three of The Boys is now shooting, and that hopefully means we'll get to watch the series before the end of the year. Now, some set photos have emerged which offer our first look at Jensen Ackles' Soldier Boy. Unfortunately, it's not the actor in the costume, as a stand-in was used while the Supernatural alum is quarantining before stepping in front of the cameras.
The costume definitely pays homage to the comics, though we still don't know which version of Soldier Boy we're getting here (chances are it could be a mixture of the three from the source material).
It's also worth noting that the character is clearly alive and well in the present day, as he's attending the premiere of Dawn of the Seven. That movie was being shot during season two, and famously parodied Avengers: Endgame's big female empowerment moment during the final battle with Thanos.
In related news, Variety reveals that The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke has enlisted his old Supernatural colleagues Meredith Glynn, David Reed, and Jim Michaels to work on this upcoming third season.
