In tonight's episode of Syfy's hit series
The Expanse, "IFF," Bobbie and Avasarala were on the run from a UN ship trying to kill them and tie up any loose ends for Errinwright. Avasarala is clearly not holding up well under the force of trying to outrun their adversary. Bobbie sends out a distress signal for help, which is picked up by the Rocinante. However, Holden and Amos are against helping, feeling this is no longer their mission, but Prax casts the deciding vote in support of answering the distress signal.
What follows was perhaps one of the best space battles in the show's history. Just when Bobbie and Avasarala are almost blown apart, the Rocinante flies in and tricks the UN ship's missiles into missing their target. This does not eliminate the threat, forcing the Rocinante to pull some sweet trick moves and fire on the UN ship and its missiles from multiple angles. While all of this is happening, Prax and Amos share quite the moment when Prax's oxygen tube disconnects, forcing Amos to make his way across the room and reconnect the tube while avoiding projectiles and sudden changes in ship position.
In next week's promo, Avasarala is recovering on the Rocinante where she and Bobbie are seeking refuge. The Rocinante continues its voyage to Jupiter's moon Io to investigate the spike in protomolecule activity Holden detected and search for Prax's daughter. It also appears that we will learn where Cotyar, Avasarala's loyal friend, has been hiding. Check out the promo and synopsis for next week's episode, titled "Assured Destruction," below:
