In what can easily be described as the television series' biggest departure from the comics yet, we saw Jesse deal with the aftermath of sending Arseface to Hell as well as a number of other things that should make the latter half of the season all that more interesting. Next week's installment will feature a fierce showdown between Jesse Custer and Quincannon. Check out the promo, two photos, and the first sneak peek clip below:

El Valero

In a fierce gun battle Jesse faces off against Quincannon and the Meat Men to protect his church, while Tulip tries to save a friend.






 
Preacher is the story of Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a conflicted preacher in a small Texas town who is inhabited by a mysterious entity that allows him to develop a highly unconventional power. Jesse embarks on a journey to, literally, find God, joined by his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and an Irish vagabond named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun).

Show is getting better and better every episode. Also they wouldn't dare kill off Kass.

I'm so conflicted, I think this show is very good and I want to love it but the more it deviates from the comics the more uneasy I feel. Mainly cuz these aren't the characters I read so their essence isn't intact. I'd argue Cassidy, Arseface, and Tulip are better characters though but still too different.

@JH24 - I think S2 is when it'll hopefully turn into a road film, we've seen Herr Starr and the Grail has been mentioned, also looks like Granma and Jody and TC aren't far away.

@JH24 - I'm really hoping the grandmother comes into play soon and is just nasty and disgusting lol... But yea Jesse and Tulip seem like very different characters vs. their comic counter parts. I've only read book one so far but it had me hooked all the way through.
