According to Badass Digest, AMC have ordered a pilot for Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's Preacher. It seems the network wants to fill the void left by Breaking Bad, and are turning to the notoriously difficult to adapt Vertigo comic series to try to do just that. The last we had heard there was actually still a big-screen adaptation planned from Eagle Eye director DJ Caruso, but that's been in development Hell for so long it was probably only a matter of time before it was dropped -- a tv series is a much better fit for Preacher anyway. So, this should please fans of Reverend Jesse Custer and his very strange pals. Casting ideas please!

If they don't pull any punches, this could be truly fantastic. Now let's see The Sandman on HBO...

MFN doesn't read comics. He watches the movies but he's never touched a comic in his life.

Irony is that Andy Lincoln looks more like Custer than he does Rick Grimes. I'm stumped for a fan cast

they've altered walking dead too much that although it's an enjoyable show I find the comic superior. As for preacher any alterations to it would be COMPLETELY unwelcome, it was and is perfect as is.

This is an amazing development. A miniseries on AMC, HBO, Starz, etc is the only way to properly develop this comic. I just hope they don't take liberties with the property as they did with Walking Dead. The Preacher is a masterpiece and should be left the way it is.
