Seth Rogen Teases PREACHER TV Series

A simple but telling twitter tease from comedian Seth Rogen for AMC's upcoming, live-action Preacher tv series. We have some official confirmation that Rogen and co.'s take on the Garth Ennis and Steve Dillion comic book won't stray too far from the source material.

Thanks to Seth Rogen's twitter, we now know exactly how the Preacher television series is going to start. With a (biblical) bang! For those that may not have read the Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon comic book, Genesis is an all-powerful supernatural deity who possesses Jessie Custer while he's delivering his Sunday afternoon sermon. This act sets off a chain of events that leads Custer on a journey to track down God and take him to task for abandoning his creations. There may be one or two more hints in the pic as well, can you spot any?

And heaven rained down with great vengeance-ah, and the lord-ah gave his almighty decry-ah, that the devil shall rot in hell.

CAN I GET AN AMEN!

Seth Rogen Teases PREACHER

I thought this was going to be about Rogen's new show where he has little boys get into bed with preacher's but then they run away to tease them.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this. Despite my better judgement, I think they may just pull this off. Obviously just wishful thinking at the moment.

So...I just found out a REALLY big Metal band MAY be playing at Comic-Con...AGAIN.

And I don't mean Dethklok...

Seems there's a Con afterparty at a Gaslamp club for a certain toy line featuring Exodus,"special surprise guests"...and Kirk Hammett from Metallica.

My envy for Con-goers has now reached Super-Saiyan levels....

Well shit I was going to say "gusto" is the devil - by that's just lazy writing.

Then I was going to go into a somewhat serious tack and explain how a lot of people think that the bible says things it actually does NOT - particularly about hell.

And then I remember that a "serious" topic here NEVER goes well and I just want to look at boobs anyway.

I don't know why one of the things I'm adamant about being in the show is Herr Starr saying doom-cock while drawing his hand cannon.

Sean Patrick flannery for Cassidy.

Lance henriksen for saint of killers.

Make it happen.

Damn. This is really cool but AMC is crazy for making this. The controversy of the Jesus/Mary bloodline and Jesus never dying on the cross is gonna piss a lot of people off....Ballsy move AMC. I hope it pays off.

People are going to flip out when this airs. It's hard for me to say how this is going to effect AMC. I think they're going for a "we are the network to show the really edgy stuff" but I also think its just bury the network in controversy.

I like AMC and the shows they put out. But I think this is a little to out there to not hurt them. I hope I'm wrong. I think HBO had the right idea when they stopped development of this when they had it.

One of my favorite series to read. I've read all 69 issues and the spin-offs multiple times. Hope this show doesn't stray far from the source material.

This will clearly stray from the source material because they will have to do to restrictions on production and their budget. Having said that knowing that rogen and his friend are huge fans puts me at ease. I don't think he got te rifts so he could butcher it and stray far from te source. Also anyone who says rogen could play the lead or anyone worrying about That ur off ur rocker and ur stupid cuz that won't happen
