Superman versus zombies. Completely unoriginal, Smallville already did it.

very poor career for Brandon Routh, he went from being a movie actor to tv show actor.

@charbelelnasr

He's still in movies, just hasn't been starring in anything as of..Superman Returns..lol. He's going to be in the upcoming Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. But yeah his career has really taken a dive since he arrived.

Brandon Routh, what happened to you? Why all the TV show appearances? You were the STAR of a Blockbuster movie for Gods sake!

Won't be too hard for him to act dead.

He'd still find a way to make that look drab and boring.

Brandon playing a zombie???

Perfect role for him!

Because, the guy can not act very well. I will make this small incy wincy concession:
He had shown signs of life (pun definitely intended) towards the end of his Chuck run. Otherwise, he was a nobody before SR because he was actually a NOBODY before SR!!! He's just one fortunate SOB.

I don't get all the bashing of TV actors. There are many great actors on regular TV shows. There are also a number of successful film actors who have gone on to do television series as well in their career. Keifer Sutherland, Danny Devito, Alec Baldwin, Martin Sheen, Holly Hunter, Timothy Hutton, Sally Field, Glenn Close, etc. I guess Jackie Earle Haley is part of that category as well. To discount someone simply because they're doing TV seems somewhat silly to me.

How does acting steadily in TV roles equal a sagging career? He's been in Zack & Miri, Dead of Night, and Scott pilgrim while also appearing on TV. Now he has a role in the next big series from AMC, which is one of the few networks that still make hight quality programs, and somehow his career is in the toilet? Prior to SR he was in MTV soap operas. His career is actually on the up!

I guess Ari Gold (Entourage) was right. Once you do a Kevin Smith movie your career is done.

What character would he be playing? Outside of Rick and Glenn, no other 20-30 something adult male makes it past the second volume...

I hope it wasn't my statements about Routh that inspired your comment. I think TV is a great place for people sharpen their abilities. Broadway and stage is the best. They have to be on their game to perform before a live audience.
But I fault no one for having a TV show. Its where seasoned people that are no longer the Hollywood "IT" crowd that can finish out their career. As well as the young up and comings that can sharpen their game.
However, with that said, if someone was going from show to show to show and never landing anything that would keep them permanent, it seems to me (and I think Routh falls into this category) they are not necessarily good enough for the show's producers to keep around. I think Routh is a horrible actor and that is why he only gets bit parts in TV and film here and there.

True That..If I may, I don't wanna go on record by saying that Routh is a crap actor. Simply put I think he's still quite the 'novice' as far as experience goes. Honestly, I think he was cast for Superman only for his likeness to Reeve (and this has NOTHING TO with Routh...for that you'd have to blame Singer and his narrow vision of Superman...this rant could go on longer but that's for another article). AAnywhoo...I just think it unfair to bash him when i dont think he's quite had his 'time to shine' with an actually well written role...SUPERMAN DOES NOT COUNT! It's also wayyy wrong to crack on him cause he's on TV. Plenty of good actors started on multiple bit parts on tv, just to make it big with the right script they can relate enough to to allow there craft to shine. As my wife pointed out...Jennifer Aniston, whom by no means is a master of her craft, imo, but IS a Hollywood 'A' lister, started out in a crappy little movie called 'Leprechaun'...along with many, many other, finer actors. Fact is, Routh may go down in history as sucking the big one as an actor...but he may not. At which point there will be many fan boys both eating crow and repeatedly posting in sites JUST LIKE THIS (I'm looking @ you, all you Jensen Ackler's)how he should be cast in your next CBM.

Phinehas@ Not necessarily your comment, but a combination of a few that makes it sound like TV is for second rate or fading actors. I could share bios of dozens of actors who have gone back and forth between film and TV, many doing just bit parts on TV. Having taught television and film acting in my younger day, I don't view television as a place just for actors to sharpen their skills. Many quality actors want to do television. There are some actors who are doing television right now that I think are way more talented than some of the Hollywood "IT" crowd. I just think television actors get a bad rap from people, but that we all have our opinions. ;-)

"Many quality actors want to do television."

Well, see? There ya go. I don't respect most TV programming. That is certainly not to say that they are all bad. Rather, there are some very fine shows. They just seem to be very few. I just don't care for the medium as a whole.

"There are some actors who are doing television right now that I think are way more talented than some of the Hollywood "IT" crowd."

Undoubtedly!

He was a shitty Superman...so he might as well go undead.

Good riddance for portraying our hero as a stalker/bastard father.

Routh can go to hell. Same with Bryan Singer and that god-awful Superman-Returns crapfest.

yeah, i think everyone is just shocked to see their precious Superman go from being in movies, to being on a TV show.

@ keven

yeah man, i can see him playing The Governor for some reason, but that doesn't really make sense since the Governor doesn't show up till WAY later. other than that, i'm out of ideas. it sounds like they'll be making some new characters for the show...no way will he be Glen.

and yeah, Superman Returns sucks, i'm not sure why so many people on this site liked it, or at least liked him as Supes. i don't hate Brandon Routh, but he wasn't right for Superman.

ASSASSIN666- Why don't you shut up you wolverine-wannabe. I never said SHIT to you, so shut the hell up. Seriously you're just a stupid piece of shit. I bet you're one of those people who actually loved Superman Returns. You probably loved the fact that it was advertised as a Superhero action film, when it was actually 2 1/2 hours of all romance and NO action. You probably loved the fact that Superman was made into a dick father who had a kid with Lois and ditched them for 5 years. You probably loved the fact that Lex Luthor went back to his lame-ass real-estate schemes. And oh...the fact that Bryan Singer completely IGNORED the comic books and made it so that somehow Superman was able to lift an ENTIRE ISLAND of Kryptonite. That's WHY they're rebooting it with a brand new director and cast because of how much the movie SUCKED. SO just shut up and go kill yourself you stupid-ass.
