Back in November
TV Line reported that a cast member was so furious about AMC firing Darabont from the show that he/she asked to be written out of the show. As some time had past the actor requested to stay, but a source for
TV Line says that AMC would ultimately grant their initial wish.
Since then the young actress that played Sophia is the only member of the cast to have perished, but no one believes she was the actor that put up a stink when Darabont was let go.
Now, we might have reason to believe that it was Jon Bernthal that was in fact the actor that was most agitated and vocal about Darabont's firing. Today,
Variety is reporting that Jon is in early negotiations for the lead in TNT's
"L.A. Noir". A show that just happens to be produced by Frank Darabont.
The source tells Variety's Jeff Sneider,
"Discussions have barely begun and there's no certainty a deal will come together.
In "L.A. Noir," Bernthal would play Joe Teague, the Los Angeles cop at the center of the show that examines corruption in the LAPD and ties between police and underworld figures in the 1940s and '50s. TNT greenlit the pilot earlier this month. Darabont wrote the script, based on the book by John Buntin, and will helm for TNT Original Prods. Michael De Luca and Elliott Webb exec produce with Darabont."
TNT has declined comment, but if this rumor is true than it's safe to assume that Jon is gonna last long enough in
The Walking Dead to see its third season.
The Walking Dead will return Sunday February 12th, 2012 at 9pm ET on AMC.
