The low ratings of the recent seasons of
The Walking Dead have convinced many fans that the zombie drama's days are finally numbered - despite showrunner Angela Kang completely turning the show around and restoring it to it's proper glory.
However, it looks like AMC has no intention of stopping, as they recently revealed the trailer for their newest series to be released in 2020:
The Walking Dead: World Beyond. This is in addition the the main series,
The Walking Dead, as well as the spin-off
Fear the Walking Dead that is likely to enter its sixth season in the upcoming year.
On top of all that, a movie trilogy starring Rick Grimes actor Andrew Lincoln was announced upon his leaving the main series - with The Governor actor David Morrissey expressing recent concerns for a film of his own. All of this adds up to
a lot of
The Walking Dead.
It hasn't yet been confirmed just how many episodes are going to be shelled out in the first season of
The Walking Dead: World Beyond, but if it matches its predecessors, it will have two 8-episode half-seasons separated by a break. A little bit of Math means that with those three shows each clocking in at that many episodes - we're looking at 48 weeks of
The Walking Dead in a year that only has 52 weeks to work with.
Do you guys think this is a good idea or is this what will be the final nail in the collective coffin - no pun intended - for this undead universe? Let us know your thoughts below!
In the fight against the Whisperers, there's no going back.
The Walking Dead will return on February 23, 2020, on AMC.
