Not much revealing information here, but it is worth sharing that Michael Rooker, who played Merle Dixon in three episodes of The Walking Dead, confirmed his return to the show in the upcoming third season, which has also the presence of David Morrissey as The Governor confirmed. This information comes from Daily Dead Kirstian Hanson, who is covering WonderCon for them, and he has let them know that Rooker announced his return as the character during the Lollipop Chainsaw panel.

Michael Rooker didn't revealed much details, but he did mentioned that he lost 20 lbs for the role. Now, with the upcoming season set to have the prison and Governor storyline, what are your thoughts on how Merle will return to the show?

The Season Finale of The Walking Dead will be airing tonight at AMC, and the third season of the show will start shooting in May, with 16 episodes planned.

Wow this may be the first time I've ever been angry at being spoiled (I have poor willpower, don't judge me :P), I got into this series pretty late and I kept wondering throughout the first season, which was full of suprises, when he was gonna pop back up missing his hand and PISSED OFF. Would have liked it to have been a suprise :( Whinge whinge bitch bitch, this is cool news anyway :).

intresting to see how it effects daryl's relationship with rick & if he'll stay with the group or go with his brother.

i thought the second half of season 2 was better than the first half but not as good as season 1.

bring on season 3.

SPOILERS:

10 bucks says he'll say something along the lines of, "Rick, you've left me no choice but to cut my arm off. Now I'll return the favor!" And that's how Rick will lose his hand.

I think he was one of the people at that shot at Rick, Hershel and that Asian guy (forgot his name) at the bar. I'm thinking that they're hiding off in the prison that the Governor's taken control of.

Spoilers? Did I revealed the fate of any character? Did I said if anybody will die or already died? If you think that he may be dead, maybe you could consider that this could be a flashback. I'm not revealing any spoilers here, just that an actor will return on the next season. Jesus.

He didn't spoil anything. He showed up in season 2 which you all seem to be forgetting.

Get off your high horse.

Well that means anything on the walking dead season 3 can now be considered spoilers.

Let's not talk about The Governor cause that's a SPOILER. Honestly if people don't want spoilers, either don't visit the site or don't click the link.

They still choose to click the link and read it = their own fault.

Look, I can understand people getting upset over the undead shane giant main page picture, that was wrong.

This is nothing compared to that.

Holy shit. They ruined zombie Shane? That's messed up. Glad I didn't drop by a few weeks ago.

This I don't consider much of a spoiler though. Was pretty much expecting it.
