Robert Kirkman Teases Big Shane And Rick Confrontation On THE WALKING DEAD

The feud between Rick and Shane has been building for weeks now on AMC's The Walking Dead, and executive producer Robert Kirkman says that something has got to give and that something might come in this weeks episode 18 Miles Out.

We are two episodes into the mid-season return of The Walking Dead and shows producers are building tensions between Shane and Rick. Between the incident with Hershel's barn and Lori being pregnant there has been no love lost between these two characters. Comic creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman did a phone interview with MTV and said that it will all come to a head in this weeks episode 18 Miles Out. "In the very next episode, we're going to see some explosive interactions between those two men. We've been building to quite a bit of stuff this entire season, and it's all coming to a head. The fact that Lori's pregnant and nobody knows who the father is, these two are constantly butting heads over leadership and what's best for the group… it's really putting Rick and Shane at an impasse," said Kirkman. Shane's decent down a darker path and Rick's constant struggle to maintain some type of order in the group should only add fuel to the fire as well.

Those hoping to see the two come to blows you may be in luck. Kirkman had this to say about the possibility of the two duking it out, "In our episode on Sunday, I'm not trying to say they're going to come to blows… but they're going to come to blows." He also went on to say that this Sunday's episode is going to be epic, and that he is excited for people to see it.

Make sure to check back here at CBM for the latest on The Walking Dead, and catch the show Sunday's on AMC at 9 P.M. EST.

Shane looks like he could kick Rick's ass to be honest.

This was pretty much obvious from the previews.

Shane could easily kick ricks ass no doubt about that rick hasnt completely broken down his barriers of the old reality but he does have on thing on shane he's more of main plot character XD So depending on if there really throwing in a twist to the show shane is kind of expendable... I want daryl and shane to fight it out i got 30 bucks riding on daryl hands down

On top of the obvious Rick/Shane showdown, is anyone else wondering why Maggie is angry at Andrea in the preview?

Also, looking back on the first trailer for season 2 (the 5-minute one), there are scenes in that trailer that look like the group is clearing out a prison(possibly) of walkers... and Shane has hair. Anyone?

Maybe they didn't use that footage...or maybe its season 3 stuff...?

" it's really putting Rick and Shane at an impasse"

Yeah, some other dude swooped in and might have fathered your wife's unborn child, who also happened to be your zealous best friend who also questions your leadership and vice versa.

Yeah, he calls it impasse. I call it blood-brawl.

@lanternslight
Haha Rick is always getting his ass kicked in the comic.
You know, unless he's brutally murdering someone...:/

i have to say... i've watched every episode but isn't this a whole bunch of "over-acting" you have ever seen in a show?

I could see them doing to Shane what he did to Otis, rather than nutting up and doing the Shane outro like it was in the comics. I dont think there has been enough gun training for one small participant. Also, I'd take the thinking man in a fight over a meathead anytime.

Shane isn't dieing yet. Season Finale or pretty darn close to it I predict. And I am sure the little guy is going to off him.

Shane will win, because he's obviously lost all sense of humanity and clearly doesn't give a f*ck. He's a damn honey badger!

I thought i saw prison scenes as well in a few different previews for this 2nd half of the season. Also I am almost positive that they will change the way shane is killed. I mean, besides the ways they already have. (spoiler) I dont think it will be just Rick killing shane. Like someone else said, maybe it will be Karl or i could definatly see Lori doing it. The way she is getting, she may be the one to off Shane in some epic final brawl with Rick.

I agree with the Lori killing Shane theory. It'll come down to Rick and him fighting and Rick won't be able to fallow through and Shane will lift his gun to BLAM!!!! Lori is holding a smoking gun. They're not gonna have a little boy kill someone on tv.

Shane and his "to hell with em all" attitude is getting on my nerves. I don't care who kills him. Just do it already.
