THE WALKING DEAD Spin-Off DEAD CITY Reveals New Look At Negan And Maggie's Unexpected Team-Up

Some new stills from The Walking Dead: Dead City have been revealed, and they reunite Maggie (Lauren Cohan) with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)...in a predictably confrontational way! Check them out...

The Walking Dead ended with its eleventh season last month, but while the main series is over, the franchise itself is far from dead. A number of spin-offs are heading our way, including shows revolving around characters like Rick Grimes and Michonne, Daryl, and Negan and Maggie.

The latter is titled Dead City, and shooting wrapped up back in October. Now, the six-episode series is expected to premiere on AMC sometime next April.

In these newly revealed stills, we see Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) reunite after a few years apart. While they managed to put their differences aside in The Walking Dead's final episodes, they don't look overly friendly here as Maggie can be seen holding a knife to the reformed villain's throat!

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly (via FearHQ.com), Morgan suggested that Negan's abrasive personality will continue to be an issue even in the Big Apple. "Negan is a bit of a screwup. He's just that guy that you want to smack," he says. "He's a punchable guy, and I understand that, being the guy that says the stuff that comes out of his mouth."

"I want to punch him sometimes," Morgan continues. "Look, we know that he's going to run off to New York City. It's him and Maggie, and there's not a lot of people with him. So, if I do the math on this, he's going to be in trouble. It's going to be a bad combination for him."

Dead City finds Maggie and Negan travelling into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.

The cast also includes Gaius Charles as Perlie Armstrong, Željko Ivanek as The Croat, Jonathan Higginbotham as Tommaso, Mahina Napoleon as Ginny, Trey Santiago-Hudson as Jano, and Karine Ortiz as Amaia.

Little is known about their roles, but keep checking FearHQ.com because they'll be keeping you updated.

Are you excited about this follow-up to The Walking Dead?

@GhostDog - he saves their (glenn and maggies) son, he's somewhat forgiven, but he's trying to do better. Even their son almost kills him

Where is Negan's wife? Did she die? Hopefully we'll get an answer on that soon.

I just can’t. It’s just so stupid. The concept of her teaming up with a guy that brutally murdered her man. So dumb. The second he turned his back he would’ve gotten a bullet in his head. I don’t care if he save my son or not.

Splatters Glen’s head with a spiked bat like a watermelon but yea, I’m sure Maggie would team up with him lmao this shows a joke, whatever would be the actual reason they thought we’d wanna see another spin off of it with the same characters

This won’t end well…the inevitable tension and romance will cause “controversy,” and we all know what that means…this group sold their souls a long time ago…milking this thing for all they can. Show should’ve ended a long time ago with Carl narrating the story with majority of the group still alive and living…on a farm. Roll End credits…
