VIDEO GAMES: Overkill's THE WALKING DEAD Shows Off Its Second Playable Hero In An Excellent Cinematic Trailer

The first The Walking Dead's trailer introduced us to Aidan last December. He's a former architect, who's facing the zombie apocalypse with a baseball bat in his hands, just like the beloved characters from the small screen and comics. The video game will give you a chance to choose between one of four playable (anti)heroes and you will be able to play the entire storyline in the coop mode.

The second cinematic trailer focuses on former surgeon Maya who's forced to kill her colleague to survive in The Walking Dead Universe. The trailer is really well made and reminded me of Dead Island.

Given her professional background, it's not hard to guess that Maya's special ability is healing. Sadly, it's still unclear how her healing will work in TWD. Developer Overkill has also updated the game's release window and we should be able to play the game this Fall. With the trailers for Maya and Aidan released, we should have the last two cinematic teasers relatively soon. Check it out:

OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead is a four player co-op action FPS, where you and your friends fight the dead as well as the living. Set in The Walking Dead Universe, you and your group tries to survive in a post-apocalyptic Washington D.C. Each character has their own Special Abilities, Skill Trees, Squad Roles, Play Styles and Story Arcs, but teamwork is paramount. The action is close-up and intense: take out enemies carefully with silent melee attack or go in guns blazing with your choice of each class firearms. You need to be able to improvise as nothing is certain and a horde of walkers is always right around the corner.

Overkill's The Walking Dead releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC this Fall.

This game looks amazing and its crazy that it was announced so quietly back in 2014. I hope they show more gameplay soon though.

Even though it wont be like this, I always thought a Battle Royale game with TWD or zombies themed would be pretty awesome. The objective would still be to kill other players and be the last one standing but the walkers could add another element of danger if you make too much noise while in firefights. They would even add a few building elements like Fortnite to barricade yourself in buildings to prevent walkers from entering too quickly.

@Himura - To be fair, Fortnite is a great community shooter, but it didn't invent anything regarding barricading. That system has been done in Resident Evil, State of Decay, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, even Call of Duty, and probably many more like Payday (just a small feature though). Metal Gear Survive now too.

Overkill are better known for Payday and Payday 2, some sort of community GTA based on heists you can repeat, each thief having a specific set of skills. Sounds close. Not my type of game, but I think for what it was, Payday 2 was very good and replayability huge. What is scary (huge gaming nerd here, 400K G on Xbox) is that all the good, or at least founding, members of Overkill all left one after the other, especially the guy who was responsible for Battlefield Bad Company, to this day still considered a masterpiece.

One can only hope for the best. CGI looks stunning. This is Resident Evil VII or Hellblade level of VFX. If any one of you guys is on Xbox, I'll be happy to play it with you and add you!

Those 2 minutes are better directed, scripted and filmed than the last 20 episodes of the show combined.

I might've copped this if it wasn't stuck on FPS mode.
