Sometimes you get the candy and sometimes you get the wrapper. It seems that, unfortunately for Lauren Cohan, taking a shot on leaving
The Walking Dead behind her for a chance at her own network television show didn't quite work out as she had likely hoped, with the first season being enough for it to wind up on the chopping block.
While the cast and crew of
Whiskey Cavalier now find themselves out of work, Lauren Cohan still has the option to return to
The Walking Dead, as her character left with an open door just in case she would have the opportunity to show up again down the line - you know, like if her other show was cancelled.
There was word that the Showrunners had plans for at least a small arc involving the return of Maggie Greene in Season 10, along with continuous rumors that the next season will be the last for show lead Danai Gurira (Michonne).
Since the loss of Carl, Rick, Maggie, and now Jesus, Tara, and Enid, the cast has become pretty thin and nearly unrecognizable when compared to the first season. Bringing Cohan back into the fold now could be just what the show needs to gain more faith from its viewers - especially if Gurira is leaving this year, as there will need to be a strong figure to replace her in the story going forward.
What do you guys think? Should Maggie show back up to help against the Whisperers, or do you think Cohan blew her shot and the show should move on without her? Let us know below!
The Walking Dead is an American post-apocalyptic survival series featuring a large ensemble cast of survivors of the zombie apocalypse, trying to stay alive from the near-constant threat of attacks from the mindless zombies, colloqially known as walkers. However, with the fall of humanity these survivors also face conflict from other living survivors who have formed groups and communities with their own sets of laws and morals, often leading to hostile conflict between the human communities.
The Walking Dead airs on AMC on Sunday nights at 9.
