THE WALKING DEAD Kills Off A Main Character As The Whisperer War Reaches A Major Turning Point - SPOILERS

Tonight's episode of The Walking Dead killed off a major character in shocking fashion (well, not if you're a fan of the comics) as the Whisperer War reached a massive turning point. SPOILERS ahead...

Goodbye Alpha. You were an evil bitch, but a damn fine villain.

Tonight's episode of The Walking Dead culled the herd with three character deaths (one main, two supporting), and the leader of The Whisperers was among them. Tricked into believing her daughter Lydia was being held captive in a barn, Alpha wound up on the wrong end of Negan's blade.

It turns out the former Savior was working undercover after all, and it also looks like Carol was the one that let him out of his cell in the first place. The question is, if she made this deal with Negan, why was she so determined to kill Alpha herself and even put her friends in danger to do so? Maybe he simply wasn't moving fast enough for her liking.

Mary/Gamma also met her maker tonight. The former Whisperer ensured her nephew was safe with Alden and Kelly before distracting a group of walkers and dispatching them by the river, but Beta was waiting and stuck a knife in her guts. Finally, Earl was bitten while getting the kids to safety after the attack on Alexandria, and Judith was forced to put him down when he turned.

The Walking Dead has been top notch since it returned for the second half of its tenth season, but it remains to be seen if it can maintain that level of quality moving forward. Next week, Danai Gurira makes her final appearance as Michonne. Check out the promo below, and let us know what you thought of "Walk With Us" in the comments.

Damn, I legit didn’t realize this show was still on!

I thought only the spin-off was on the air.

Anyways, Mayor of LA ordered mandatory closure of all bars, clubs, gyms and no dining in at restaurants. I’m a freelance personal trainer/fitness instructor so I’m screwed for the next couple of weeks. 😩

@Tufasrox - it really has... however every season they have one singular sublime episode.

The ratings will just go from 7.4, 7.2, 7.6 - straight to a 9.7 episode that’s incredibly done.

Just wish they stuck to the plan of ending the show and writing out 3 tv movies. At least that way all that creative juice could’ve been diverted to 3 movies rather than the one off episode a season that’s sublime.

Stopped watching years ago, should have stopped sooner. If I add up all the hours of this show I've watched past season 1, that's entire days worth I could have spent doing other things.

I was shocked that she died but I was more shocked at the two responsible really good episodes.

Did you have to reveal that a main character dies in the title? I get that I'm the only one who still watches and adores the show but come on, man. Maybe that's not big enough of a spoiler for others? idk
