DOCTOR WHO: Trailer And Stills For Season 8 Episode 2; "Into The Dalek"

Looks good, really enjoyed Deep Breath, was very refreshing in terms of tone and pace, and Capaldi's already great in the role.

How come they're using the Russell T. Davies era Daleks so much though? They were redesigned in Matt Smith's first encounter with them, and then I think those new versions appeared one more time before the old bronze versions suddenly came back and the newer, colourful ones were never seen again.

@AC1 - Those Daleks were so criticized by the audience for "just a selling point for toys" that they decided to throw them out and use them only as higher level Daleks. Even then, they were just trying to phase them out.

It's a shame too because they fixed all the issues with the designs in Asylum. Not lining them up in a colorful pattern, and giving them a metallic car paint job instead of a plastic toy style, matte paint job. If they had fixed the hump in the back as well, that would've also benefited the design.

There was a really cool and classic Nu-wave style look to it. But ultimately it was too different from the designs of before and was thrown away.

It was a shame too because I've seen the episode and while it has a really great and imaginative script - the budget for the episode really doesn't do it justice. The presence of a stronger and taller Dalek or even Dalek army invading the scene would've worked.

We still haven't seen what a Dalek Paradigm hoard looks like, it could've been absolutely terrifying since they were more than 6 feet tall.

@KelvTwelve I am fine with Capaldi being cold, calculating and quite the professor. That's what I expected. Instead I got cheesy slapstick ... in a bad way. I wouldn't call modern Doctor Who a childish sci-fi show at all. Can children watch? Yes. However, the show and it's styling have a much broader appeal than children now more than ever. Either way I will continue to watch. I am sure like with all things Moffat that the major storyline will make the season better and more balanced.
