Goodbye sestra... Ahead of tonight's jaw-dropping season four finale, BBC America has renewed Orphan Black for a fifth and final season. Come get the details and discuss the insane finale here!
All good things must end and in one year's time, we'll be saying farewell to our favorite sestras for the final time...
Earlier today, BBC America announced that they've renewed their hit sci-fi drama Orphan Black for a fifth and final season and while, it's been known for quite some time that five seasons was always the plan, many fans were undoubtedly hoping the story would find a way to stretch to a potential sixth or seventh year. However, with Tatiana Maslany's rising star, retaining her would've been much easier said than done and it's always better to end just a bit early rather than overstay your welcome.
The critically acclaimed series earned a Peabody Award back in 2014 and has earned its star, Tatiana Maslany, an Emmy nomination, a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, and she's won two Critics' Choice Awards as well as a Television Critics Association Award. In a statement, co-creators John Fawcett & Graeme Manson promised an epic conclusion to the story of Sarah & her sestras: "We are excited to deliver an epic conclusion to the tale of Sarah and her clone sisters. The past four seasons have been a phenomenal adventure and we are eternally grateful to our loyal fans who have loved the twists and thrills of our weird little show. We are thankful to our partners at Temple Street, and to BBC America and Space for their support and giving us the opportunity to end on a high."
