Hawkman will return to the small screen this year as Reckless and Transcendence actor Falk Hentschel has been cast as Carter Hall/Hawkman in Arrow, The Flash, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow. This version of the character is described as, "the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time along with his soulmate, Kendra Saunders (portrayed by Ciara Renee). Like Kendra, Carter can access the powers of the Hawk God, Horus, transforming him into the winged warrior known as Hawkman." They're clearly following the comic books then! It's also been confirmed that Hentschel will first appear in the crossover episodes of Arrow and The Flash before moving on to the spinoff. Thoughts on this casting?

You can tell the CW is going for the beautiful Hawkman over the beast Hawkman. I hope this means the DCEU will go with the wild version one instead.

Come on CW, why do you have to cast beautiful young people for EVERYTHING? Why is Hawkman a model? Why isn't Jay Garrick an old man? Why?

Anybody remember this movie poster from an episode of The Flash?

Cinnamon and Nighthawk were previous lives lived by Hawkgirl and Hawkman.

@dcnoob122 @Dandy But in that show he was ment to be an already retired superhero doing his Dark Knight Returns-bit. He showed up in Smallville at 2010 but they indicate that JSA had its prime in the 80's.

Let the records show and witnesses know that Smallville is still better Superman origin story than Man of Steel (note: I don't hate MOS).

Looking forward to what they have planned for their costumes. Hawkman should be easy but it's proved difficult to realize.

At least for Smallville, sadly.

The Jay Garrick I grew up with was a young man.

Hawkman is such a great character. One of my favorites from DC. I hope this doesn't mean we won't get to see on the big screen someday soon. But of course it probably does.

Give me an epic looking Hawkman and I'll forgive the fact that the wings are supposed to sprout from his back. Just let him be majestic and bad ass.
