So, during tonight's episode of Arrow, we found out that the masked villain known as Prometheus was actually... Adrian Chase? The Star City District Attorney outed himself during a battle with Vigilante, which is actually the mantle Chase goes by in the comics.

Confused?

The show's EP, Wendy Mericle, commented on the big reveal and explained why they chose to shake things up a bit during an interview with Variety.

“One of the reasons we did it was because — of course — everyone would be thinking he’d be Vigilante. We thought it would be a really fun twist to do what we’ve always done on the show, which is to take the comic book mythology and turn it on its head.”

You can check out the promo for the next installment of Arrow, "Checkmate", below, in which Oliver must attempt to rescue Susan from Prometheus' clutches.
