Perhaps the best thing about this interview is how easy it is to see Stephen Amell's passion for the role and the universe that Arrow and The Flash have created. There are some interesting details in here about what we should expect from the upcoming crossover and beyond (will Reverse-Flash's presence be felt in Starling City?), so be sure to check it out above! Its for the best that the tv and movie universe is separated. Just look at the Tv suicide squad, you sure you want that? (Just kidding, but not really, the movie version sounds better and im not a fan of Arrows Amanda Waller).

TV has a chance to showcase the more obscure characters and more creative freedom. They dont have to deal with the huge ripple effects the cinematic universe could cause. Also with Supergirl most likely being in the universe the tv universe is doing just fine.

Everyone is really jumping on the shared universe bandwagon now.

Whats screwed up about these shows is they can never mention certain characters by name (like Batman or Superman) or cities like (Gotham or Metropolis) because the people who run WB are the biggest morons on the face of the planet. I personally wouldn't be against tv versions of Bats and Supes that exist in the Arrow and Flash universe. Unfortunately they have decided to put themselves into a box where that isn't possible.

Is it wrong that I want to throat-punch Amell? His passion is great, his acting is lifeless. Who knows, maybe it's just bad writing.

I think Stephen Amell has done a great job bringing Oliver Queen to life. Arrow is a great show. It's been interesting to watch Oliver's journey. I agree with WBs decision to keep the movie verse seperate from TV. It allows them to tell better stories. For example, while I enjoy the Arrow version of the Suicide Squad and Ras Al Ghul, that's not the version of either I want to see on the big screen. There are many other examples, but that's off the top of my head. I would like to see all the TV shows (except for Gotham) connected though. Arrow, Flash, super girl and Titans. Not saying they need to do a ton of crossovers or connect on a weekly basis, but connective tissue between them would be awesome and would help all of them to flourish imo. On a side note, really looking forward to seeing Firestorm on Flash. That's a tough character to do right, visually speaking. Epic potential there!!!

I think Ezra Miller would do a better job as The Flash. He has a so much higher acting ability and range. Its not an easy thing to put them together. Their universe can get convuluted real fast, its for the best. The only loss imo is Man Bennett, thats pretty much it

He's a great Arrow but I could have swore Green Arrow was sort of like Spider-Man with snarky comments before he did everything. I like the Batman influenced Arrow for the show but wouldn't that be better?

The Defenders couldn't do anything more to Thanos than Coulson's Scooby gang. They're street level heroes who have no business meddling with cosmic affairs."

I totally disagree. If that's the case, then why would Hawkeye, Black Widow, Falcon, & other non-powered heroes be involved in cosmic stuff, like they are all the time?

Batman has gone up against Darkseid (& numerous other super powered villains), but the defenders can't? Sounds like some MCU BS to me.

I'm not sure what people are missing, when it comes to comes to DC's shared universe. They've already stated MORE THAN ONCE, that it will happen slowly but surely, & whenever it's warranted.

They've also stated MORE THAN ONCE, that they don't intend to imitate the Marvel formula (which isn't all that perfect anyway, when you think about it)' & for the most part, they haven't.

Plus, we've already been told that Supergirl will be apart of the "Arrowverse", so it's already starting to unfold.

Yes, you can throat punch Webb and Garfield. Don't even tell them why, just do it and run ;)

@ Ragnar:

Actually, Thanos is Darkseid. They are basically the same character. They are both gods, & both after basically the same thing. Even Thanos's creator admitted to "ripping off" (his words) DS.

And Thanos has the exact same weakness as DS does. The only difference between the two, is in their personalities.

So no, none of that matters in regards to the Defenders fighting Thanos.

@Jeight:

The issues I'm (as well as many others) referring to, is the flaws of this "shared universe". The MCU continuity is all over the place, from film to film, or TV show to films. And it never really gets addressed, they just pile more stuff on it with each new project, or can ver it up with jokes & dancing.

It's not enough that you just throw everything in one pot. It's all got to make sense together, & most of the stuff in the MCU doesn't.

I think it boils down to people just being happy that all their characters are on the screen at the same time. Which I admit, is a pretty big accomplishment. But there's more to making films & writing stories than slapping a buncha people in costumes, & having them pose together in a group shot.

Hubris and arrogance.

Now, name a weakness that Darkseid has..

(I'm getting the impression that you don't know that much about DS, btw).
SAMURAI36
SAMURAI36 - 11/27/2014, 11:02 AM
Actually, I know about both. Clearly you don't, because you didn't know about the Hubris thing with Thanos, and you also don't seem to know that Radion is no longer in continuityfor the New Gods. And even when it was, it was only used once or twice.

Besides, for a humnan to get their hands on Radion, it would be equally as toxic to them, as it would be to the NG's. You said that, like humans could carry it around in their pockets or something.

Besides, it's no different than Kryptonite; it's not AS toxic to humans as it is to SM, but it can and will have toxic effects with exposure over time.

But all of this is irrelevant, and you're merely deflecting.

You initially said that the Defenders (I'm assuming you're talking about the MCU version, with DD, IF, LC, and JJ) shouldn't fight Thanos.

Even if they couldn't beat him, why shouldn't they even try? And why can Black Widow and Hawkeye and Falcon fight him, but these other heroes can't, simply because they are non-superpowered?
