BATWOMAN Season 2 Teaser Gives Us A First Look At Javicia Leslie's New Scarlet Knight In Action

The CW has released a brief teaser for the upcoming second season of Batwoman, and it gives us a first look at Javicia Leslie in action as Gotham's new Scarlet Knight, Ryan Wilder. Check it out...

We got a first official look at Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder in her redesigned Bat-suit last month, and now thanks to a new CW promo, we have a brief glimpse of Gotham's new Scarlet Knight in action.

The video begins with an announcement that the first season of Batwoman is now streaming for free on the network, but right at the end we get a few shots of Leslie's Wilder as she dons her costume and strikes fear into the hearts of criminals with a well-timed "boo."

Leslie also shared the following BTS video to her Instagram.

As first looks go, it's not exactly hype-inducing, but with season 2 set to premiere early next year, it shouldn't be too long before a full trailer is released online.

Leslie's casting was initially met with somewhat of a mixed response, mainly because a lot of fans are still disappointed that Kate Kane hasn't been recast and she'll be playing a non-canon (well, as far as we know) character. We'll see if this new Batwoman can win fans over when the show returns on January 17.

Batwoman season 2 will also see the return of Rachel Skarsten (Elizabeth Kane/Alice), Camrus Johnson (Luke Fox), Nicole Kang (Mary Hamilton), Meagan Tandy (Sophie Moore), Christina Wolfe (Julia Pennyworth), and Dougray Scott (Jacob Kane). Shivaani Ghai was recently added to the cast as Safiyah Sohail.

This show is doomed to fail. WB should have just did a show about OG Batgirl/Barbra Gordon. Instead of producing a good show, storyline, plot, etc, WB like most things on tv now they are focused on people's skin color and gender to promote the show and giving us a tokenized Batgirl. As a black man and comicbook reader for over the past 25+ years, stuff like this is tired and lame to me and pretty much everyone I know. But hey like WB said in her promo release - look at her hair and how she looks in the suit...smh.

Why does it feel like Batwoman has been on for like three seasons instead of just one?

@Kumkani - because the first season was long, boring and nothing significant happened :/

The proof is in the pudding as an old saying goes. I never try to prejudge a show unseen as people on here love to do. I'll give this upcoming season a few episodes and then decide whether it truly is crap or actually decent. Hope for the best, and don't be too surprised if the opposite happens.

I was against a new Batwoman, but I'll check it out, as I'm mildly curious.

They should have scrapped Batwoman from the beginning and gave Vixen a show from the jump
