Fox has announced that its DC Comics-based television show Gotham will return on March 1.

The announcement was made via the show's official Twitter account, although the studio also released a promotional video previewing what's in store for fans when the show returns.

David Mazouz, who portrays a young Bruce Wayne on the show, recently teased an exciting second half of Season 4, which will see many of the show's villains team up in what he basically referred to as "the Justice League of Gotham villains."

"They’re gonna basically terrorize the city over the next 11 episodes. All the good guys are gonna have a part in taking them down, because there are just so many of them," the actor teased. "Of course it’s spearheaded by the man that posted it himself, Jerome. Everybody is involved, somehow, in this massive fight against this band of villains. It’s so cool. I loved every single time I got a script these past couple of months. It’s so cool, the idea of everybody teaming up like that."

Gotham returns on Thursday, March 1 at 8pm ET.

Still so long away! Please give this a last season Fox.

Really hope the last half of this season is stronger than the first half. It started out great, but after they killed off Ra's, the season stumbled and started to have a lot of issues (outside of the Pyg storytline).

Though it seems that perhaps Ra's will be returning in some form or another. Smart, because it was entirely stupid to kill him off. Hopefully Jerome has more of a presence than a couple episodes, he's always a treat. Sounds like the plot with all these villains teaming up is what they introduced in the finale of season 2 and then failed to erally capitalize on in season 3. And for the love of Grodd, Bruce needs to wake the fck up and stop being a btch.

@HeavyMetal4Life - Did anyone expect Ra's would actually stay dead? He went down way too easily and almost like he expected to, and plus he's immortal anyway.

So the actual Joker is going to be a dickrider of Jerome. Okay.

@Invictor - It's possible they're the same person in some aspects. The Jerome actor tweeted something out about being the Joker but at the same time, not being the Joker.

Cameron has done a phenomenal job with his character and it would be a shame if we never got to see him portray the actual Joker in live action someday. I would take him over Leto to be honest.

@smgmayhem - I don't even watch the show and I agree.

@TheCantilope - LMFAO

@smgmayhem- totally agree, he's far superior. Maybe my second favorite Joker.

Cam is the Joker to me. It's a bad move on the show runners to insert a "real" Joker

@JohnnyTBP - I'd suggest we wait to really see what happens. I love Jerome, he's the joker to me. But I think there could be a bit more to his comments than meets the eye. Even though it seems like he's talking about a different joker, he could just be talking about an evolution of his character into becoming the REAL joker. Idk. I don't buy it until we see it.

@JohnnyTBP - Agreed, he knocks-it-out-of-the-park and should be the official Gotham version of the Joker! All he needs is a good ACE chem bath and they can even say that the woman he killed was not his real mother or something to keep the mystery of who he really is. Bottom line, I love his performance as Jerome/Joker and he has definitely earned the title. On a separate note, I know people argue that Batman's villains are a response to Batman, but I always preferred the idea that Batman was a response to all the crazy villains in Gotham. Someone had to rise up to meet the challenge.

@Buckster10 - what you say makes total sense, but my only gripe with the show is that these villains are like 10-20 years his senior, like by the time Bruce is 30 The Riddler and Penguin Zasz gon be in there 50s...but I guess those are more cerebral foes than physical ones for bruce, but still I wish they aged Bruce up some more but I do like the actor playing Bruce lol ... so I guess I'll just keep quiet after all that typing haha

So the legion of doom of Gotham?

Maybe what the producers are saying is true, from a certain point of view... Jerome is not the joker, because when he has that MAJOR psychotic break that pushes him over the edge... Jerome effectively dies... replaced by the new personality that is the one true Joker. So basically, the producers are Obi Wan-ing us.

Gordon better be careful! I'm not so sure you can just walk up to a hot chick these days and say "If I go down, so will you"...... ;)
