GOTHAM KNIGHTS Trailer Shows Harvey Dent On The Hunt For Batman's Killer And Introduces Robin

The CW has released a new trailer for Gotham Knights showing Harvey Dent hunting Batman's killer as well as introducing us to the teenage heroes who will "suit up" to clear their names. Check it out...

Unrelated to the video game of the same name, Gotham Knights - a series most of us expected to be axed when The CW changed hands - is now heading to the network on March 14. That's the same night as Superman & Lois, so the hope is clearly that fans will stick around to head from Metropolis to Gotham City.

After watching this trailer, though, we're not sure why anyone would actually want to tune in!

Revealing that Harvey Dent is on the hint for Bruce Wayne/Batman's killer, we're introduced to the teen heroes who will take centre stage in the series, including The Joker's Daughter and Robin. The former just looks like a regular girl who smiles a lot, while the latter's costume boils down to a pair of goggles.

Honestly, this feels like a series that was pulled out of The CW's archives from 2005, though there's always a chance it could surprise us. This trailer doesn't really impress, though, and it's hard to say who the target audience actually is with the show.

In Gotham Knights, in the wake of Bruce Wayne's murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman's enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city's most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names.

However, in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it's ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviours.

The series stars Oscar Morgan as Turner Hayes, Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown, Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela Dent, Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelley, Fallon Smythe as Harper Row, and Tyler DiChiara as Cullen Row.

Gotham Knights premieres on The CW on March 14 right after Superman & Lois.

Ignoring how bad this show looks...

The best part is seeing characters we've never seen before in live action like Harper and Cullen Row and Carrie Kelley.

The worst part is the name Turner Hayes. You can just go and [frick] your own face with that shit, CW. Just call him Tim Drake, for [frick]'s sake, you evil bastards! Don't John Blake us with that shit, you mother[frick]ers!

@ObserverIO - It would've actually been fun, if they had called him John Blake just for shits and giggles.

So the premise is that a bunch of teenagers become vigilantes in order to clear their names after they're accused of... murdering Batman?!

If Harvey Dent or anyone else in Gotham believes there's even a chance that's possible then that universe must've had a really shit Batman 😂

@AC1 - This.

At this point if you can’t use Batman, just don’t do a Batman show ffs. This will flop [frick]ing hard AF. Not a god tier revelation, we all know it.

@ScaryTerry - I mean, even if they can't use Batman and wanna do a spin off aimed at a teen audience then fair enough but don't do it with a ridiculous idea like "a group of teenagers are framed for killing Batman" as if anyone would ever actually believe a bunch of kids could even get close enough to throw a punch at the most dangerous non-powered vigilante in the DC Universe 😂

Like, why couldn't they have just gone with "Batman's missing/dead, his adopted son and a group of other teenagers step up to try and follow in his footsteps"

Would it be the next best superhero show? Probably not, but at least it wouldn't be ridiculous 😂

@AC1 - Agreed. It’s as if they are insulting our intelligence on purpose.

Who's this kid that keeps calling Batman his dad?

Anyway, I like the Harvey Dent detective premise. Other than that, this looks kinda goofy.
