Unrelated to the video game of the same name, Gotham Knights - a series most of us expected to be axed when The CW changed hands - is now heading to the network on March 14. That's the same night as Superman & Lois, so the hope is clearly that fans will stick around to head from Metropolis to Gotham City.
After watching this trailer, though, we're not sure why anyone would actually want to tune in!
Revealing that Harvey Dent is on the hint for Bruce Wayne/Batman's killer, we're introduced to the teen heroes who will take centre stage in the series, including The Joker's Daughter and Robin. The former just looks like a regular girl who smiles a lot, while the latter's costume boils down to a pair of goggles.
Honestly, this feels like a series that was pulled out of The CW's archives from 2005, though there's always a chance it could surprise us. This trailer doesn't really impress, though, and it's hard to say who the target audience actually is with the show.
In Gotham Knights, in the wake of Bruce Wayne's murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman's enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city's most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names.
However, in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it's ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviours.
The series stars Oscar Morgan as Turner Hayes, Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown, Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela Dent, Navia Robinson as Carrie Kelley, Fallon Smythe as Harper Row, and Tyler DiChiara as Cullen Row.
Gotham Knights premieres on The CW on March 14 right after Superman & Lois.
