GOTHAM Ratings Slip Slightly During Second Week But BATMAN Prequel Still Going Strong
Gotham's first episode was a hit in terms of both rating and the reception it received from critics and fans alike. Though the second episode - focusing on a young Selina Kyle - did suffer a slight dip, it's nothing compared to the shocking decline of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s viewership last year...
With shows like Castle, The Big Bang Theory and WWE Raw all vying for the attention of television viewers last night, Gotham continues to do well suffering a drop of only 13% (though some sites say it is was low as 11% or 12%). This is considered "standard second-week slippage" according to Entertainment Weekly, and though the Network would liked to have seen a great retention of viewers, this is by no means a bad result. Those DVR figures for the series premiere last week showed what a difference thy can make too. Total viewership was 7.3 million viewers, 2.8 adults 18-49 rating, and it's worth noting that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. suffered a second episode drop of a whopping 34% last year, so Gotham is doing just fine! Did you tune in last night?
