KRYPTON TV Series Confirmed For SyFy; Logo & Details Revealed
We got word that this show might be in development a while back, and now it's official: David S. Goyer will exec produce and write the pilot for a new one-hour SyFy drama series.
Turns out that Krypton rumour from back in October was on the money. It's now been officially announced that Syfy and Warner Horizon Television have teamed with David S. Goyer (Constantine) and Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time) to produce a Superman prequel series set on the Man Of Steel's home planet. We'd assumed this show would focus on Kal El's parents but it will actually deal with his grandfather's attempts to bring peace to Krypton. Here is the official logo and a brief synopsis.
"From Warner Horizon Television and DC Comics, Krypton takes place years before the Superman legend we know, when the House of El was shamed and ostracized. This drama follows the Man of Steel's grandfather as he brings hope and equality to Krypton, turning a planet in disarray into one worthy of giving birth to the greatest Super Hero ever known."
Krypton joins the ever-growing list of DC-based TV projects in development, including Supergirl and TNT's Titans, which THR seem to confirm will include the characters of Nightwing, Starfire, and Raven. Geoff Johns has also revealed via Twitter that the Titans pilot is set to shoot next year. What do you guys think of this news?
