LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Co-Showrunner Teases The Departure Of Another Cast Member In The Season 3 Finale

The Legends are set to take down Mallus in next week's finale, but that may not be the biggest moment of the episode, as one of the series' showrunners reveals we can expect a cast member to exit the show.

Monday’s finale episode of Legends of Tomorrow is set to be a big one, as the Legends face off with Mallus and a number of fan favorite characters return for the showdown. However, despite being the moment that has been set up since the season began, the final battle against Mallus may not be the biggest moment of the episode.

Speaking with TV Line, one of the series showrunners, Phil Klemmer states the finale will see the departure of another cast member:

"It does [pave the way for an exit], it does. There’s heartbreak in the finale. A Legend leaves."

So, it seems the finale’s Wild West setting may also feature a character walking off into the sunset. Now, no other details were revealed by the showrunner about who we can expect to see depart, but Klemmer did also state that he doesn’t know if Amaya and Nate’s “love is made to last.”

When we take this into consideration with the couple’s season long struggle to defy history and stay together, it would make sense to see either of them depart. Plus, there is precedent for Amaya leaving the team as seen last season.

Whatever the case may be, this story point will continue the Legends of Tomorrow tradition to send off a character or two in its finale. Season 1, for example, sent off both Hawkman and Hawkgirl, and Season 2 saw Rip Hunter step down as a permanent member of the team.
