On the heels of the final trailer that debuted a couple of weeks ago, HBO Max has released a series of posters for the upcoming Peacemaker series, giving us new looks at the main characters of James Gunn's The Suicide Squad spinoff.

Joining John Cena as the returning Christopher Smith, we have Freddie Stroma as his seemingly inept sidekick Vigilante, A.R.G.U.S. agents Leota Adebayo (Danielle Brook), John Economos (Steve Agee), Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland), and the mysterious Clemson Murn (Chukwudi Iwuji), along with Eagly as... Eagly.

Check out the posters below along with the latest teaser.

Though specific plot details had been under wraps up until recently, the new trailer gave us a much better idea of what to expect from the show, as Cena's unhinged vigilante is recruited by A.R.G.U.S. to "save the f*cking world" from a mysterious group known as The Butterflies. We're still not sure exactly who or what these seemingly monstrous individuals are, but there's speculation that they may somehow be tied to The Suicide Squad's big bad, Starro.

Peacemaker is set to premiere on the HBO Max streaming service on January 13. Do you guys plan on checking this one out?

Idk about a goofy take on Vigilante, but this show looks really fun so far. I like Gunn's DC universe

I'm still trying to get used to John Cena with that much hair

@BlackBeltJones - but that's not jarring at all

Doctor Strange's cut in No Way Home, now that's jarring

OT

If you’re not watching Hellbound then what are you doing?

This show is wild. South Korea just keeps upping the ante

@BlackBeltJones - I'll probably watch it the same week as when Cobra Kai comes out. Still got Dopesick, Narcos Mexico, and soon The Witcher on the list too.

Will definitely be watching The Silent Sea and My Name too soon. Those South Korean shows sure do look great (even though I didn't like Squid Game).

@bkmeijer - I just finished narcos Mexico a little while ago. That was my to do before starting Hellbound. I’ve got 1 ep of Hellbound left.

I need to start Dexter New Blood soon too.

@BlackBeltJones - I've only saw one review of it and they see it's pretty good so I've been meaning to watch it. Is it really that good?

@BlackBeltJones - never saw the original Dexter show, so I don't really have incentive to watch the new one. Might just be me though

@Fares - yessir. It’s obviously heavily focused on religion and the supernatural but there’s also real chaos that resonates well with today and not knowing what we can trust on the internet.

The real horror is in the the way due to modern technology and mobile phones / cameras can be abused to spread religious fundamentalism. Idk if the show is for everyone but if you like high concept horror, you’ll dig it.

@BlackBeltJones - Any concept can work for me if it's executed well, so I'll check it out asap. Thanks!

I have faith that Gunn will take what looks like a really goofy put me out of my misery kind of show and turn it into something worthwhile. Remember, he made us all feel sympathy for Starro and the raw deal that alien got with just one line: "I was happy floating, staring at the stars." If he can do that, I trust he can turn this silly sh*t show of a series into something great.
