The Flash looks set to make some sweeping changes to the DC Extended Universe, but that doesn't mean we'll be saying goodbye to everyone. Peacemaker has added a lot of compelling new characters to this world while simultaneously fleshing out some of the individuals we met in The Suicide Squad last year.
Writer and director James Gunn has already dropped some big hints about a possible second season, but it sounds like we'll see at least one cast member elsewhere in the DCEU before then.
"It is part of the DCU, I mean they can use these characters...I mean one of these characters, which people have kind of figured out, one of these characters is used in a future big DC movie that's from here," he explained during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "So we are connected to all of this...who knows what role these characters are going to play in the future?"
"I mean no one knew who the Guardians of the Galaxy were, and then all of a sudden they're massive players in [Avengers:] Infinity War and [Avengers:] Endgame," Gunn continued. "So who knows what's going to happen with Peacemaker in ten years, five years, or whatever."
We're not 100% sure who the filmmaker is referring to here, but the only character who comes to mind is Jennifer Holland's Harcourt. There were rumblings last year that she might appear in Black Adam given A.R.G.U.S.' rumoured involvement with the movie, so that does make the most sense right now. Whether the events of Peacemaker will be referenced in any way is hard to say.
We wouldn't say no to someone like Batgirl crossing paths with Vigilante in Gotham City, though...
