Did You Catch That Nod To Batman In Last Night's Episode Of SUPERGIRL?

We know that Gotham exists in Supergirl's world, but last night's episode of The CW series saw the Caped Crusader himself get a mention of sorts as he's clearly spent at least some time with Superman!

James Olsen's transformation into Guardian has been better than pretty much everyone expected, but one person in Supergirl who isn't a fan of vigilantes is Kara Danvers. During last night's episode of The CW series, the hero made that clear when she mentioned that Superman had also worked with a costumed crimefighter, and well, I guess we now know that Batman is definitely part of this world!

"My cousin worked with a vigilante once," the Girl of Steel says. "Tons of gadgets, lots of demons. Vigilantes are nuts!" He's not mentioned by name, but that has to be Batman, especially as a previous episode has confirmed that Gotham exists on Supergirl's Earth. Will we ever get to see a small screen version of the Dark Knight? Honestly, it's hard to say, but we never expected to get Superman!

Time will tell, but for now, share your thoughts on this reference in the comments section below.

@RancidBane - Watch the show (past season 1's pre-winter hiatus) and then tell me the show is crappy. Because it's not. Or actually read a comic book, because it captures the Silver Age perfectly.

@GAThrawnIGF - I'm not dissing anyone who likes the show. To me it is a proven statement that direct comic to screen adaptations don't work great. The written page and the television screen are 2 different animals. It just doesn't translate well. I'm glad you like it but it isn't for me.

@Highflyer - What? I like the CW shows and I think the movies are ok(I think Man of Steel is a solid CBM), but I recognize that DC needs to be represented better in the movies. If they aren't going to do that, then at least give the tv shows a shot at doing a full DC universe.

Seriously, series with 22 eps should be extinct. Who the hell has the time to be watching fillers these days? Even when you are an avid series watcher, there are tons of them out there. Make them all 10 eps tops, please.

@ODanil - just put that DVR to work and watch at your leisure. 10 episodes would mean 9 months of repeats.

@ODanil - Or you can just cut out all the filler yourself? I personally like the 22 episode season thing. In fact, I think it would be great if they shot it up to around 40 eps a season, but I know they can't do that due to budget and time constraints.

My only question is that on the Flash/Supergirl crossover Barry made mention to there being no similar cities between the worlds yet there is an Opal City on both Earths and presumably a Gotham on both Earth's as we know from that newspaper that Wayne Enterprises exists.

Also worth noting that I think Flash mentioned Blackgate Prison too, so I am extrmely curious to know exactly what all 3 Earth's have in common.

@Armageddon26 - from what I rememeber, he said there was a Central City in Supergirl's Earth, just that Star Labs didn't exist, or Harrison Wells, Cisco or any of his friends. so maybe it has the same cities, just without dopplegangers

@Spidey91 - Ahh, yes, you are right there. My bad. So that may mean a Kyrpton still exists in the CW-verse too. It'd be nice to hear that National City and Metropolis are Super-free cities as well.

I guess is SUpergirl can identify the aliens as Dominators when she crosses over it will help explain more just how the Earh's translate to each other.

On another note the Guardian plotline this episode was like a high school plagiarism of the Green Arrow/Vigilante plot from last weeks Arrow, so that became an annoying distraction for me.

Could've been referenced better imo

"..Vigilantes are nuts!".

They sure are lol

Sometimes I think I'd like to get caught up on this show, but a season and a half to watch is too much time to invest at this point.
