SUPERGIRL Auditions May Provide Spoilers! SUPERMAN To Appear?

This isn't the first time, nor will it be the last time actors upload their audition tapes online for all to see. This time, the actors are auditioning for roles in CBS' Supergirl.

CBS still hasn't chosen which actress will play Supergirl/Kara Danvers in their new television series based on the DC Comics' character, nor have they cast anyone in any role. So, it is not surprising that audition videos for the show would appear online and five of them have. Check them out below, but be warned that some of the dialogue might actually be from the show, thus there could be... spoilers! Take for example the first three videos, they feature actors reading for the part of photographer Jimmy Olsen. In them, Jimmy is recounting the heroics of Superman saving a family from a burning building to Kara, who wanted to know if Jimmy was scared of Superman's superpowers when he first observed them. Based on the scene, Kara will be working alongside Jimmy. The next video is of a young actress auditioning for Kara/Supergirl She is reading the same dialogue. Eh, she was okay. The final video is an actress auditioning for Kara's foster sister, Alexandra "Alex" Danvers. In this scene, Alex is scolding Kara for rescuing people in a train. It is Kara's first use of her superpowers out in public and Alex isn't happy about the possible ramifications.

Update! Spoiler TV (click here) has added more audition videos and has even transcribed the dialogue. To view them all, or to read the transcript click on the link above or below.

Kara Zor-El aka Kara Danvers - Kara at age 12 was sent from her dying home planet of Krypton to Earth, where she was taken in by the Danvers, a foster family who taught her to be careful with her extraordinary powers. After repressing said skills for more than a decade, Kara is forced to bust out her super moves in public during an unexpected disaster. Energized by her heroism for the first time in her life, she begins embracing her abilities in the name of helping the people of her city, earning herself a super moniker along the way. - TV Line

I'm assuming Supergirls powers and action scenes will be severely budget restricted. Probably won't watch for the sheer fact that Superman and Clark Kent will probably be avoided like the plague making it so obvious that the show is under contract and legal restrictions to never ever mention anything or have an actor play the Man of Steel on it.

Ergh.

why not just make this a continuation of smallville and bring back tom welling and laura vandervoort. Cause you know we could always use more Laura Vandervoort in our lives.

I know i'm not the first to say it but they should have just connected the two main DC tv shows to the Movies. At least you have characters already established from two successful TV shows, and I say that as someone who is not a fan of Arrow. Also thank god they have finally Started calling The Flash by his proper name. No more of this Streak rubbish.

So am I correct to assume that Alexandra Danvers is Supergirls love interest?

Oh man... please don't tell me Kara's foster sister will end up becoming jealous of her powers, which leads to her becoming a villain...

I hope they don't go that route, because it is so cliche and predictable...

Also, I don't like that Kara will be working at The Daily Planet. People are going to expect to see Superman appear, but he will probably just be alluded to. That's just going to make fans feel like they are being teased.

It would be better if Kara worked at the Metropolis police department as a file clerk or something.

That way, she would be able to keep on top of the latest criminal activity in Metropolis.

This dialogue is so bland and wooden I'm surprise that this show is not part of the Snyderverse.

doesnt mean its in the script. these can just be for auditions only. but superman wont appear. it will all just be stories. though they really need to explain why hes gone.

im guessing it will be either hes doing some business with justice league in space, trapped in the phantom zone or has just simply disappeared. and kara needs to find out where he is.

i would really like to watch this but if they go down the smallville route i wont. i dont really care for relationships unless they are done good and actually progress. nothing worse than seeing the same love story play out all the time like smallville.

and she needs to have a suit too. they need to see what flash is accomplishing. they are away to do time travel... people are ready for comic shows so have her in a suit flying around please

hope the seasons wont be full of filler either. jsut make it a 13 episode season

@ace101

I'm with you. It's funny how people stick up for the same exact shit in shows (like AOS, Arrow, Flash, etc) that they used to give Smallville.

Not saying any of those are bad shows, but they're all in their early seasons. And all this time later, during the CBM boom, none of them are as good as the first few seasons of SV.

Based of these auditions, Conner McMamara is Jimmy... Sorry, James.

@Ace101,

I have NO interest in seeing [redacted] ruin Superman any more than he already has. In fact, if I never see anyone mention Smallvile and Superman in the same breath again I'd die a happy man.

DC, Warner Bros, I'm a big fan, but you are so lost. These "You can't use so and so" restrictions are nonsense. Just set up The Multiverse, and have an alternative Superman, etc... for the DCTV Universe.

- Earth-One, DCCU.

- Earth Two, DCTVU.

- Justice League, DCCU.

- Justice Society, DCTVU.

- Crisis on Infinite Earths, tie in.

Honestly why would Superman be in this show? Her name's Kara 'Danvers' not Kara Kent, Jimmy is changed to a stud and Lex is pretty much going to be Alexandra Danvers...
UltimaRex
UltimaRex - 1/19/2015, 3:21 AM
@jaysin420,

I don't give a damn about AOS. Sorry but there it is.

Flash treats it's main character and mythos with respect.

Arrow... less so but compared to Smallvile the show is a saint.

By the way there is only one 'Danvers' in comics.

Kara Zor-El ("Linda Lee") "Danvers" is Supergir's original secret identity. The name's an Easter Egg. You would have known that if you were not a trolling fan boy.

Yeah I know the Linda Lee Danvers stuff. But she's the cousin of Clark Kent and is better known as Kara Kent shoot they could've gone with Linda Kent or Kara Lee. Kara Danvers sounds way to similar to Carol Danvers and since she's getting a movie it just seems like WB/DC are doing what they always do best when it comes to Marvel...

I love how people on this and comic book related websites keep on saying that, listen dude, the vast majority of the population is not into comic books(Marvel has just made them easily digestible to the "normies") it's already bad enough that most people go cinemas and ask:

After avengers cutscene, "is that Hellboy?"

"That Hawkeye guy wasn't he also in Smallville?"

Watching GOG when Thanos comes up, "is he related to the Hulk?"

"I heard Batman is gonna be in the next Avengers"

"Why are Batman and Superman fighting I've never seen them right this is stupid"

...

Oh yeah connecting the TV to the cinematic universe worked real good with Agents of Shield right?
