After an entire season of build-up, next week, it's time to throw down as the Girl of Steel (Melissa Benoist) finally comes face-to-face with her Red Daughter doppelgänger and based on this new promo, it looks like it could quite possibly be the biggest fight the show's ever pulled off.

"Red Dawn" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

SUPERGIRL BATTLES RED DAUGHTER - Kara (Melissa Benoist) comes face to face with Red Daughter and the two engage in an epic battle. Determined to find a way to extract the Harun-El, Lena (Katie McGrath) turns to an unlikely source for help - Lillian Luthor (guest star Brenda Strong). Meanwhile, Alex (Chyler Leigh) realizes she's missing parts of her memory, and Brainy (Jesse Rath), Nia (Nicole Maines) and J'onn (David Harewood) set out to track down aliens who have been abducted by Lex. Alexis Ostrander directed the episode with story by Lindsay Sturman and teleplay by Gabriel Llanas & Eric Carrasco (#421). Original airdate 5/12/2019.

Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to humanity and our planet, and in the process, Kara was shocked to find her mother Alura alive and living in a salvaged Argo City that survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is now here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia! Season four promises to be full of surprises, action, adventure and lots of big revelations for Supergirl, Alex, James, J’onn, Lena and Brainy.

Supergirl features:
Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El/Supergirl
Mehcad Brooks as James 'Jimmy' Olsen/Guardian
Chyler Leigh as Alexandra 'Alex' Danvers
Jeremy Jordan as Winslow 'Winn' Schott
David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz/Martian Manhunter
Katie McGrath as Lena Luthor
Jesse Rath as Querl Dox/Brainiac 5
Sam Witwer as Ben Lockwood/Agent Liberty
Nicole Maines as Nia Nal/Dreamer
April Parker Jones as Colonel Haley

These shows are just too cheesy. I think they should just do mini seasons because some of the filler episodes are so bad

@Mrsinister - Sometimes they do a good job at making season long stories work, but yeah, probably would be better if they did 16 episodes per season, or do what Gotham did, 2 arcs per season
gotham started doing that in season 2
S2 Part 1: Order Of St. Dumas
S2 Part 2: Hugo Strange
S3 Part 1: Mad Hatter
S3 Part 2: Court Of Owls
S4 Part 1: Sophia Falcone
S4 Part 2: Jerome/Jeremiah Valeska
S5: Bane/Nyssa
There were also other plots, that would be brought up, then picked up again later

Wonder how they are going to structure all the shows next seasons, Arrow is obviously just going to have a 10 episode arc, before ending with Crisis On Infinite Earths, but what about the other shows, if they are merging earths, they will be interupting stories, and merging earth, probably should have a big impact on those stories.

@dracula - Don't take my word for this but there was a rumor that all of the episodes of each show could be building up together to Crisis on Infinite Earths and not just focusing on each others' own plots until we reach the crossover. It would be a neat way to proper build up everything. If that was the direction they're going then I think the "real plots" of each show would begin after CoIEs ends. (AKA in early January 2020)

We'll see.

@NinnesMBC - If that is true, then hell yeah, I thought at most we could get a two week crossover event, but if all the shows are building it up during their first halfs , then damn, it will be great, each show can tackle aspects of the comic before the meet up. Maybe we can see Kamandi in Legends

@dracula - Let's hope so, it'd be a creative and risky way to make the journey to CoIEs worth earned and not rushed or anything.

@NinnesMBC -

Cool rumor and would really show that the CW is serious with its pledge to "Swing for the Fences"
with COIE. Having a season buildup would allow a lot more of the greater DC Universe to be featured in the crisis.

It would be awesome to have the Legends cross paths with The Spectre and Dr.Fate to pay off those plot threads from Constantine's NBC show.

It would all make sense to have the season-long plots of the remaining CW shows start after
the winter break with Supergirl dealing with a metahuman threat and The Flash dealing with
aliens loose in Central City.

It shouldn't be long now. Because May is the time of year the prior crossovers were just being announced and production on the new seasons start in June so they have first episode's to premire
at Comic-Con.

Besides, nobody is going to care who the big bads for Supergirl, The Flash, Black Lightning, Legends and Batwoman are next season. Everybody is going to want to know about the scale of the Crisis.

This is the biggest DC story ever it has to be massive and has to have far-reaching results (especially in this post-Infinity War/Endgame pop culture landscape)

I know this is television vs motion pictures but you can't adapt the biggest DC story of all time
as Marvel's opus and not have people be disappointed if it's not balls-out spectacular.

Good episode, just wished they had addressed sooner Alex's subplot about becoming a foster mom earlier because it got in the way of the main plots even if she and Kelly bonded over their own trials.

Was pretty fun how they were testing Jimmy's new powers at the Fortress and would have liked to see Nia using the cosmic anvil on him. "Not in the face!" :P

Brainy did all that he could to stop Lockwood from getting the Harun-El boost but he shined when he used that inspiring speech to make the DEO agents remember their oath to protect aliens. Didn't need any math and logic for that.

J'onn's return was right on time to save the day. And now Lockwood is truly alone, just he, his Children of Liberty and that vial of Harun-El. No family, no wife and unless he pulls himself together, no son.

I hope they explain where that purple lighting came from that hit the plane they were going to Kasnia.

I thought Eve injected herself with Harun-El to split but apparently she put on her the cells of that splitting alien, huh.

Lena really shouldn't be a drama queen about the upcoming reveal of Kara being Supergirl because she's never been manipulated by any of them unlike with Eve and pretty much everyone in her family and other people. If she is, well, she is a dumb emotional dummy.

The POTUS is officially in cahoots with Lex.

I liked Red Daughter's full costume with the helmet. Can't wait for next week.

Another thing: once again with another close-up to AmerTek equipment during their investigation in Kasnia. This must be like their 5th mentioning and literal showing of the company's involvement with the plot and their logo being on full display. I really hope AmerTek has a presence in S5 for the fallout of working with Lex and it leads to the intro of Steel.
