Hey Everyone and Welcome to What Did I Miss, where today I will be breaking down the first episode of the new CW series Superman and Louis, and letting you know all the easter eggs I picked up on. While the character has appeared on the CW before, debuting on the series Supergirl a few years back, because of a crossover event on the channel called Crisis on Infinite Earths this version has been retconned a bit so that this really is a new version on the character. That doesn’t mean we won’t see characters from the other series showing up on future episodes, but the producers of the show did say that because of the limitations put on filming due to the coronavirus there would be no cross over opportunities this season. Honestly, after watching the first episode I don’t believe this series will need help from any of the other established heroes on the network, as I thought it was an engaging story that showed a new side of Superman while also making the world he and his family live in seem familiar to fans of the character. I especially liked all the nods to prior versions of the character and even though there were more than a few, it did not seem like the show was trying to recreate a prior version of the character. Here, I will go over the episode and point anything I saw that is a reference to something from the comics or something else in Superman’s past while also going over my theories about what is going to happen this season and beyond.
