THE FLASH Will Air Five "Event" Episodes This Fall With Guest Stars From The Rest Of The CWVerse

While we're not getting another massive CWVerse crossover event just yet, it's been confirmed today that a five-part "event" in The Flash will see the Scarlet Speedster cross paths with familiar faces...

Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, crossovers in The CWVerse have become a thing of the past this year. The plug was pulled on a "World's Finest" team-up with Superman and Batwoman due to concerns about mixing different cast and crew members, but it's now been confirmed that The CW is planning to bring some familiar faces into The Flash this Fall.

While we're not getting a full-blown Crisis on Infinite Earths-style epic, The CW President Mark Pedowitz revealed during a conference call with members of the press today that five "event" episodes of The Flash will feature the Fastest Man Alive teaming up with his fellow heroes.

“The idea for The Flash is, [showrunner] Eric Wallace and [executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] have come together and are talking about other superheroes from the CW-verse who will come together in each individual episode," he said. "It will not be quite be a crossover but will have a crossover-type feel and the introduction of all these characters."

This sounds like a cool idea, and a good way to bring back the concept of these larger than life heroes interacting with each other. No names have been confirmed, but chances are we won't see anyone from Supergirl and Black Lightning now both shows are coming to an end on The CW.

We are, however, pretty excited by the prospect of seeing the Flash race into action alongside the likes of Superman and Stargirl!

More details will likely be revealed later this year, so keep checking back for updates.

@SuperIronman12 - At least JW wanted to attempt tapping into what makes Supes great instead of making him a mopey killing machine.

I feel like it’s time to wrap up The Flash. It’s gotten so stale and repetitive. There’s also way too many supporting characters to the point Barry Allen is almost an afterthought.

@BreakTheCode - I agree. It's constantly "random sci-fi imaginary non-scientifically plausible problem" followed 30 seconds later by "of course! We need to build/find this random sci-fi imaginary non-scientifically plausible solution!"

so just the first couple of episodes of the Flash show? Superman and Batwoman aren't getting their episodes affected? ok good, I wanna see Superman interact with other heroes, but i don't want his own show caught up in crossovers.

Be interesting to see if they sneak Ezra or whomever from the Film Universe into this event again.

@IronGenesis - would be hard to keep it secret for him, hope he doesn't choke up on it

So, are we still doing Honest trailers or nah?

@Spock0Clock - 400 trailers? A nice round number to wrap up that joke for good. Might be just me, but I think these things stopped being funny at least a couple of years ago.

The friendship between Kara and Barry is gold. Would be cool if we got to see them together again down the road one day.

I’ll always have a soft spot for the Flash but I think it’s time they wrap it up. Seems like an epic crossover type event would be wise to do that. Keep Superman and Lois though, that show is great.

Superman and Lois should be different, it's at least 37% better than any other CW superhero show.

I guess this will help boost Flash, while equally persuading folks to check out other characters...

I do miss the feeling from the older seasons of the Flash. I know things must change, but wonder if the 'golden years' of the Arrowverse are over.

Or, with Superman and Lois...is the best yet to come?

I hope they keep Superman & Lois separate from the rest of the Arrowverse. That show's running on a whole other level of quality and I don't want it to be tainted by the likes of what The Flash has come to make itself.

Cool, but how will these play into the Godspeed arc
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 5/25/2021, 5:24 PM
@dracula - Wouldn't it be more "how will the end of the Godspeed arc lead into those 5 event episodes" like?
dracula
dracula - 5/25/2021, 5:34 PM
@NinnesMBC - They only have like 8 episodes left in the season after tonight. Doubt they would only do 3 episodes after 2 and a half seasons of building it up. Plus there is the 1 episode being taken up by Cisco's departure
NinnesMBC
NinnesMBC - 5/25/2021, 5:51 PM
@dracula - They got 7 left all the way to the 18th episode. Yeah Cisco's departure, the ep that starts it though, sounds at first hand like filler but honestly I doubt it, it'll tie up someway to whatever is coming in the 4th Graphic Novel and Godspeed.

As well as any tease that has to do with Bart Allen.

Would rather see Superman And Lois team up with Star Girl instead of Batwoman
Odin
Odin - 5/25/2021, 12:48 PM
@dracula - That could be a interesting surprise, if they suddenly announced that Superman and Lois is so different from other CW shows, because it actually takes place on Earth 2. Maybe Superman just started his career after the original JSA had been killed but before this new one started to emerge. It's a big world after all. IDK, just a thought.
dracula
dracula - 5/25/2021, 12:55 PM
@Odin - not sure there would be enough time to have passed for the timeline to make sense.

The JSA died 10 years ago.

Considering their son’s ages would, he would have to have been Superman for at least around 20 years in the new timeline.

Was really thinking as an introduction to the new multiverse
