Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, crossovers in The CWVerse have become a thing of the past this year. The plug was pulled on a "World's Finest" team-up with Superman and Batwoman due to concerns about mixing different cast and crew members, but it's now been confirmed that The CW is planning to bring some familiar faces into The Flash this Fall.
While we're not getting a full-blown Crisis on Infinite Earths-style epic, The CW President Mark Pedowitz revealed during a conference call with members of the press today that five "event" episodes of The Flash will feature the Fastest Man Alive teaming up with his fellow heroes.
“The idea for The Flash is, [showrunner] Eric Wallace and [executive producer] Greg [Berlanti] have come together and are talking about other superheroes from the CW-verse who will come together in each individual episode," he said. "It will not be quite be a crossover but will have a crossover-type feel and the introduction of all these characters."
This sounds like a cool idea, and a good way to bring back the concept of these larger than life heroes interacting with each other. No names have been confirmed, but chances are we won't see anyone from Supergirl and Black Lightning now both shows are coming to an end on The CW.
We are, however, pretty excited by the prospect of seeing the Flash race into action alongside the likes of Superman and Stargirl!
More details will likely be revealed later this year, so keep checking back for updates.
