The Reverse-Flash Breaks Some Bad News In THE FLASH Season 3 Synopsis; "Flashpoint"

Was it selfish of Barry Allen to rewrite history in a bid to save the lives of his mother and father? That's debatable, but it's easy enough to understand why he made that fateful decision in The Flash's season two finale. However, what The Fastest Man Alive didn't realise is that making that decision will cost him not only his memories (which make him the person he is), but also the incredible powers he has.

As a result, it sounds like the premiere is going to deal with what's next for Barry as he's forced to decide between this new world and his old one. Of course, it's no secret that this status quo won't last beyond a few episodes, but the Reverse-Flash's role in things is very interesting, especially as we know that he'll be a bad guy in the upcoming second season of Legends of Tomorrow. What do you think?

WHAT WOULD YOU SACRIFICE TO HAVE EVERYTHING YOU’VE EVER WANTED?  — Barry (Grant Gustin) is living his dream life – his parents are alive, he’s asked Iris West (Candice Patton) on a date and he can finally be a normal guy as Central City has another speedster, Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale), running around saving the city. When Barry starts forgetting parts of his old life, the Reverse Flash (guest star Matt Letscher) taunts his nemesis and tells him that there will be serious repercussions for Barry and the ones he loves if he continues to live in this alternate universe. In addition to losing his memories, his powers will also start to fade. When disaster strikes, Barry must decide if he wants to continue to live in this world as Barry Allen or return to his universe as The Flash. Jesse Warn directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Brooke Roberts.

@MeAreLegend - no? He shouldn't even have them like in the comic and movie version of flashpoint. The time stream is fixing him, his memories and the fact he never became the flash is correcting itself

@MeAreLegend - I never read flashpoint but in the Flashpoint animate feature he isn't have his powers. He worked with Thomas Wayne to recreate the accident to get his powers back.

I wonder if the 2 villains in the flashpoint arc are only going to be there until barry fixes the paradox. Maybe when he sets things back in order we will get the real season 3 big bad. hopefully gorilla grodd!

I hate how they are going the cheap way out with the whole flashpoint paradox. They could have done an all season arc with the horrible ramifications of Barry's actions having characters show up on The Flash showing that timelines versions of those characters while their main shows continue on the original timeline.

@JonAwesome - it would have been awesome to have two new super powered characters take the roles Aquaman and Wonder Woman played in flashpoint with Ollie's dad playing that timelines Arrow and Supergirl taking Superman's spot.

It looks like Barry's tampering with time will tie into Reverse Flash surviving being erased from time. Because why else would they inject him into a story he had nothing to do with?

Barry could have tell harrison well earth 1 to start the particles accelerator early. Barry meant to become the flash much later in 2025 or maybe. Reverse flash kill harrison wells & take his idenity start the particles accelerator early so Barry could become the flash much sooner because the real Harrison wells started in 2025 & Barry become flash.
