YOUNG JUSTICE: OUTSIDERS - Get Your First Look At Kaldur'ahm As The New Aquaman
Kaldur'ahm is a boy no longer! The former Aqualad will become a man in the upcoming third season of Young Justice, & take over King Orin's heroic duties as part of the Justice League. Check out a new pic.
A boy will become a man in DC Universe's Young Justice: Outsiders, as Kaldur’ahm (Khary Payton) officially takes up the mantle of Aquaman.
One of the original team members, Aqualad was not an established DC Comics hero when he first debuted on the popular animated series, but he has since emerged as one of the show's most popular characters. Now, it looks like he'll be graduating to the Justice League.
Producer Greg Wiesman explains why King Orin believes the time has come for Kaldur to step up while chatting to EW:
“We established back in season 1 that King Orin was training Kaldur to take his place as Aquaman. Aquaman was also King of Atlantis, which to most people would be a full-time job, and yet he also had to be in the Justice League as Aquaman, which was a lot on his plate. His game plan was to train Kaldur’ahm to be the new Aquaman so he could go back to being King of Atlantis, which was plenty.
What you’ll see in this season is that after everything that’s happened in season 1 and season 2, and the leadership qualities that Kaldur has shown, Orin looks at Kaldur and says, ‘You’re ready.’ It’s a pretty momentous year for him.”
