DEADLY CLASS: The Russo Brothers And SYFY Share A First Look At The Upcoming Series

Hot off all the praise they're getting for the magnificent Avengers: Infinity War, The Russo Bros. have revealed the first look at Deadly Class which will begin airing on SYFY in 2019.

The trailer shows off a number of beautiful scenes from the pilot episode which stars Benjamin Wadsworth as Marcus Lopez, a disillusioned teen drafted into a high school for the world's deadliest assassins in the late 1980s. Interspersed with the footage is the Russos themselves discussing what led them to the project as well as series writer Rick Remender (Uncanny X-Force, Venom, Tokyo Ghost) assuring that the television series will delight fans of the comic.

Check out the trailer below!

Deadly Class remains a runaway hit for Image Comics thanks to clever writing that blends a coming of age high school story with wild action and punk rock sensibilities. If the television series is anything like the source material, it will be equal parts beautiful and violent, poignant and irreverent, and just plain fun. And if these scenes are any indicator, we're going to be getting just that when the show premieres next year.

Any other Deadly Class fans out there? What do you think of the trailer? Are you looking forward to the series, or does it look like it's gonna bite? Let us know what you think in the usual spot!

Have never heard of this before, but if the Russo's are involved count me in. Thier last 3 movies have earned that. Also, we get Wong, so that's a plus.

@Prime8 - I highly HIGHLY recommend the comic series. It is one of the best comics of the last decade. The team of Remender and Craig is just fantastic.

@Prime8 - They're only executive producers. It's not nearly as in control of a product as you might think. Sure, they have some say, but companies use this to trick consumers into thinking it is a product of said executive producers when in reality they were involved with very little. You have to look at the producers, directors, and writers for that.

It's Syfy. Even if it's good It'll be cancelled like The Expanse.

A high school for in-training assassins? With the Russo's on board?

We should stop supporting networks that cancel quality shows prematurely.

It's awesome to see the Russos putting their faces and names on stuff with this kind of credibility. I've been a fan since Arrested Development, so it's great to see people twigging to how great they are.

But Syfy is a graveyard of broken promises and shattered dreams. Never love anything they touch, because it will only turn to ashes in your mouth.

@SmellofDuty - Eight hours later and you've still credited Joel Russo?

You need to ask yourself if you deserve to be on the main page.

@Spock0Clock - I'm not changing Joel. He is the best brother in the Russo trio. Dio agrees.

Never read it, but have heard of it before,

now i'm wishing i'd picked it up.

This sounds intriguing based on who's making it alone.

Looks good, but they're dressed like the Warblers from Glee. I keep expecting them to break into song.
