GAME OF THRONES S4, E06 Promo; "The Laws Of Gods And Men"

Phew, that was quite an episode, eh? HBO have now released a promo for next week's episode of Game of Thrones, an episode which sounds pretty interesting and intense as Tyrion looks set to a showdown with his father, while Stannis and Davos come up with a new strategy...

@dcnoob

Yeah, that caught me off guard. I've read the books, but I must have missed that detail. Varys called him the most dangerous man in Westeros, and he's definitely living up to it. The War of the Five Kings never would happened if not for Littlefinger.

Also, a moment of silence for a fallen hero.

Man, who could've possibly seen that coming? Littlefinger is basically single-handedly responsible for setting in motion the chain of events from the very first episode of the series onward. Wow. I was shocked when that was revealed in such an unexpected, nonchalant way.

He helped kill Joffrey, he's married into the influential Arryn family, he killed Jon Arryn (which led to Ned becoming Hand of the King and literally EVERYTHING that follows)...is Petyr the most important person in Westeros? Looks like it. Can't wait for next week.

Gulity. I pretty much marathoned the books once I caught up with the show. By the third, I was probably not in the right head space for it. I should have paced myself.

On the plus side, watching the show has some genuine twists to it.

@dcnoob, @spock0clock...Yeah, they pushed the Lysa reveal up, from the end of the book, which surprised me. I figured that reveal would be at least episode 9 or 10, cause in the book there was a lot more to that conversation (not going to spoil it cause the rest of that conversation will be in either ep. 9 or 10). At the very last chapter of book 3, before the epilogue, Lysa reveals everything we just saw in this past ep. 5, that LittleFinger was behind everything and gave her the poison. Oh non-readers, you are still in store for some very, very surprising treats coming up.

All he has to do is lean in to say something and Tyrion freaking OWNS a scene, even when you don't get to hear what it was.

@Sauron

Well, he isn't solely responsible for the war, but he is catalyst for a lot of things that set of the chain of the events. It's also believed he was the one whispering in Joffrey's ear to get him to execute Ned, causing the North to rise up.

@darkknightmare2012...the night's watch guys stayed there after they killed Lord Mormont earlier in the third season. Them being their in episode 5 was not in the book. In the book, they were killed right after they killed Lord Mormont and Mance Rader's wife gave Sam her baby to protect and took Gilly with him. It was Theon Greyjoy who is being tortured and had his wiener cut off. The whole torture story in the show never played out in the books. In book 2, Theon was taken hostage, just like in the show, but you didn't see him again until about 1/3rd of the way into the 4th book as Reek, being dragged by a chain by Ramsey Snow. He wasn't even in the third book. It was explained later in the fourth book what happened to Theon. He was being tortured cause Ramsey thought he killed Bran and Rikon Stark, and cause Ramsey Snow is crazy and likes those games.
