The last time we saw Jon Snow in season 8 of Game of Thrones, he'd returned to the Night's Watch and left Westeros behind after killing Daenerys Targaryen.

A sequel series tentatively titled Snow is still thought to be in the works, and there are lots of places that story could take the hero. Most interesting is the fact this would obviously be an original tale seeing as George R.R. Martin still hasn't finished his Song of Ice and Fire saga (never mind starting work on a follow-up).

It's been said that Kit Harrington approached the author with this sequel idea and is keen to continue telling Jon's story. The ongoing WGA strike is bound to have delayed work on the project, but fans remain keen to know how many other familiar faces are likely to appear.

During a recent interview with Extra (via SFFGazette.com) to discuss her role in Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion, Daenerys actress Emilia Clarke shared her thoughts on possibly reprising that role in Snow.

"I don’t think so," she admitted. "Kit, I love you. I'ma watch that one because of you or I’m gonna tell you that I did, but I won’t be in it. No, I don’t think so. He hasn’t called."

This isn't massively surprising given her character's controversial demise, though Daenerys could always show up as a spectre haunting Jon or in flashbacks. For now, it doesn't look like that's the plan, but who knows what might happen as the series continues taking shape.

We've already seen a handful of Game of Thrones spin-offs fail to become a reality, so it will be interesting to see if Snow is among the shows that manage to make it past the finish line. However, if the success of House of the Dragon was any indication, fans remain heavily invested in this franchise even after the main show's divisive final season.

Clarke and Harington may well eventually reunite in the MCU, though we're admittedly not sure what would lead to a Skrull and Black Knight crossing paths!

I could see her show up for a flashback, but that's about it. Really hope the show's main focus is Jon at The Wall, as those were my favorite parts of the original show.

"I'ma watch that one because of you or I’m gonna tell you that I did" lmao I love her. She refused to watch HotD because it was too weird for her to see Targaryens and dragons and not be in it.
Anyway, that show is still in early stages so it's still possible she could cameo at some point, in a dream or something, because Jon should be still haunted by what he did.

@Polaris - That's exactly what should happen. I hope they don't just have him on his merry way. He should feel haunted for sure. I was just thinking about this spin off the other day, wondering what the heck story they are going to tell. Maybe he goes north of the line and becomes the king of that area. Should be plenty of mystery and excitement to explore in that area still.

I don't have a lot of confidence in this show seeing the light of day, and to be honest I kinda stratch my head over why it was ever announced in the first place.

What's the story there? The white walkers are dead, the south has largely made peace with the wildlings, and the wall has a massive breach in it, so what is there to guard? With Jon going north, what is there to do? Be the new King Beyond the Wall? The unsullied [frick]ed off back to Essos, and Queen Sansa was never beholden to them so she has no good reason to enforce Jon's banishment.

It seems to me like Arya's voyages would have the most story potential as a sequel to GoT, but no one with money seems to care about exploring that.

As far as I'm concerned if the original actors don't want to reprise their characters then it's a dead on arrival. I'm not interested in a show that's just Jon surrounded by entirely new faces.
